Pho Saigon Restaurant

Just went to this hole in the wall. It was extremely authentic. Just like the joints back in California. I had the Pho special. It had all the varieties of herbs that are missing from other pho restaurants. I also had a banh mi sandwich with thit nuong pork. It was really delicious. I am glad that there are some places in St Louis that still has the ""real"" vietnamese flavor. The price was also cheap. We found this amazing restaurant through some friends and after waiting several times to eat at it's rival up the street, we found it to be much much better and less expensive, with no wait! If you're willing to overlook the surroundings outside and figure out how to park in the back (try using the alley accross the street from Schnucks - it may take a little searching to figure this out) you will be rewarded with great service an wonderful flavors for little $. Try curry chicken, lemongrass beef and the vermicelli bowl with charbroiled pork and shrimp. The Summer rolls are pretty good - the pork could be less ground, but the pancake appetizer is good.
