Best

I just had the greatest dining experience ever at this modest Vietnamese restaurant. I was waited on by a mother of four who's children attended harvard, Duke, Notre Dame, and Ox...

Worst

We usually come here since we moved from Arizona to NC. We really love Vietnamese soup/noodles. Have invited some friends to dine there with us and they loved the food as wel...

good thai food, fast service 11/14/2006

an eclectic customers but everone seemed friendly and having a good time, food was good and service was fast. prices were a little high considering the food. Pros: big selection Cons: average food for the price more

Slow and Rude!!! 11/2/2006

Service here is always slow, even if the place is practically empty. Refilling drinks is unheard of, food comes out and the staff completely disappears (we're practically sucking on our ice cubes for liquid refreshment). A friend of mine went there for lunch with her co-workers one day and asked for a to-go box (it didn't take a genius to see that it was already used, there was food still in it) she asked for new box, staff took it back to the kitchen, wiped it down and gave it back to her, with food still stuck to it!!! Completely appalled, they left with the box still sitting on the table and never went back and neither have we. Food was ok, but nothing I can't get just a few blocks away or even make at home. Try it at your own risk, but I'm just sharing my own experience with Pho 98. more

No recommended 9/14/2006

We went to this restaurant after visiting another restaurant owned by the same owner in Rock Hill, SC. The restaurant in Rock Hill is excellent, but this one is not. Service was good but the food was not. The buffet table was not covered. Sanitation rating of only 90 did not help either. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Bad food, poor sanitation rating more

What a family 4/1/2006

I just had the greatest dining experience ever at this modest Vietnamese restaurant. I was waited on by a mother of four who's children attended harvard, Duke, Notre Dame, and Oxford. Turns out she was the owner of the establishment and one of the sweetest woman I have ever met. "T" is her name and she has quite the story to tell. Her food was wonderful, and the service was superb. There isn't another restaurant in Charlotte much less the Carolinas that can top this place. "T" will make sure of that. Highly, highly recommended. Try the pho soup which is out of this world, or the delicious vietmanese pancakes. Pros: "T", the owner, food, service more

top markings 2/7/2006

This restaraunt is 15 minutes away from my work but worth the hustle on my lunch. I love the fresh vegetables in all their dishes!! Top marks. I have converted many of my co-workers. Their house fried rice and #114 (a noodle dish with grilled chicken/pork) are my favorite dishes! more

very rude cashier that very day 12/18/2005

We usually come here since we moved from Arizona to NC. We really love Vietnamese soup/noodles. Have invited some friends to dine there with us and they loved the food as well. But more often than not we are not satisfied with the service. They are soo slow taking the orders. And just recently, we went there for buffet and the lady on the register even charged my 23 month old baby as an adult. Can you believe that? She was sooooo hungry with money that even an infant has to pay...they don't have milk on the buffet table anyway nyahahaha....and told her why i should pay her for the milk i brought myself.....We all agreed (all 15 of us) that we are not going to come back to this restaurant anymore......geeeeeeezzzzzzzzz...... more

YUM! 1/24/2004

This place has some of the best Vietnamese food in the area. Don't let the seedy location turn you off... just RUN from the parking lot in to the restaurant. All of the noodle dishes are SUPERB! Pros: inexpensive, delicious, great service Cons: location more

great food good people 6/10/2003

We'e been dining at Pho 98 since it opened. Have consistently had delicious meals. We have brought several "meat & potato" folks with us on occasion and they've been "converted". Prices are extreamly low for the quality and quantity of food you receive. Everytime we go there we are made to feel truly welcome and appreciated - heck it seems like were part of the family. Thi and her daughters usually wait on tables and will accomodate any request you make. Not sure what to order - just ask for a suggestion - we've yet to be dissapointed. Can't recommend it highly enough for a healthy, friendly, inexpensive place to have dinner or lunch (they now have a great buffet on sat & sun too). Pros: food, price, staff/owner Cons: location/parking lot more

yum 12/15/2002

food was great - authentic but tasty tasty (curry was so good), prices better. they'll make you anything, even if it's not on the menu. service was iffy but very nice. Pros: food, flexibility, prices Cons: building more

Like home 7/22/2002

The owner waits tables here and talks to you a lot. About her kids, about her business...but the food is so good and the conversation so sincere (in a southern drawl, no less) I felt like I was eating in a friend's kitchen. I'd go back for the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Soup) anytime. Pros: inexpensive, quick service Cons: in a strip mall, out of the way more
