Just like people insurance, companies need to have healthy people paying now, not waiting until they get sick. Does not work that way! more

Turned Down 4/11/2011

I have been with Pets Best since 2008! The first time I need you to help me with my dog Ive been turned down for pre-existing conditions. Thanks Pets Best, Ive told people about you in the past and you did have great service, it seems that when you were bought out by Progressive customer service has declined. Thanks for letting me spend money on premiums the last three years for nothing! more

It's such peace of mind having Pets Best insurance for our dog Buddy. He's supposed to have a great immune system because of his mixed heritage, but simply doesn't. He's had lots of vets visits and a really expensive procedure, and each time, we were able to go forward with treatment and not be afraid of the cost. Pets Best has always come through for us. more

My Husband and my dog are my best friends! when he was out of town my dog got very sick and was immediately taken to the emergency vet. I cannot thank Pets Best Insurance for being there...it helps to know the covered costs can be reimbursed and I should enjoy my pets company for years to come. more

even when I talked to someone with the email bmuir@pets.best.com who said he would look into it, and I sent the claim to him also, I received no feedback. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. more

4 older dogs with health issues 11/5/2010

I spent a lot of time researching pet insurance a few years ago when I was looking to purchase. PetsBest had the best coverage for the price. They also were the only provider that would cover my golden retriever who was 10 at the time. One of my goldens has had numerous issues with allergies, and it has taken almost 2 years of dr. visits, tests and meds to figure out what was wrong. I would not have been able to have provided the care and treatment for her had it not been for PetsBest coverage. Today, she is a happy and non-itchy dog who has returned to a full and enjoyable life. My 10 year old golden swallowed the end of a spatula earlier this year and because of PetsBest, I was able to afford the surgery to have it removed. Their customer service is exceptional, policies are comprehensive, and payment is accurate every time. These policies have been a great and helpful investment for both me and my dogs. more

Best Insurance we've had 9/13/2010

I can highly recommend Pets Best (and already have to all my friends with pets) because when you call, you speak to a real person who actually knows what they are talking about! They are friendly, helpful, and when it comes to claims, they are much faster than you would expect. The claims come back with easily readable info on what was covered, etc. Along with the correct amount on the check. We especially love the Wellness Program. This gives us much more peace of mind when it comes to caring for our animals. more

Excellent Value and Service 8/27/2010

My snowshoe baby Griffin developed Stomatitus and required a full extraction of all his teeth to stop ulcerative growth in his mouth. The AVDC vet performed all required services excellently, and they were about $2400. Thanks to Pets Best, my out-of-pocket expenses (deductible of $500 and 20% of balance) were decreased by 66%. Affordable premiums, clear communication, and a timely reimbursement... all met expectations very well. more

Abscess 7/5/2010

My 5 year old rottweiler, Caperusa, had an abscess that turned out to be chronic and out of control. Caperusa was hospitalized for almost 2 months and had numerous tests done. What's amazing is that her vet is in Mexico and PetsBest didn't hesitate to come through and pick up 80% of the $3000 vet bill. Caperusa is now home, safe and all better. we could not be happier with pets best ! we knew when we got buc-lee ( pug ) that he could have " issues ". we decided to get insurance for him and are very pleased we went with this company. he HAS had issues, ear infections that don`t sound like much; but when he has to be sedated that adds up. we have the very BEST vets there are and great insurance. you shouldn`t have to think about costs when deciding on treatment for your pet. you don`t have to if you have ins.. his yearly wellness exam was $175. paid in full. everyone is struggling right now, but a few dollars a month could save you bundles. we insure ourselves, our children, homes, cars, so it just makes sense to do the same for our little guy whom we would morgage the house for if needed !! i could go on and on; but the bottom line is most insurance we have only gets used when something negative happens. heres insurance that we can use to keep our pets well and have the peace of mind knowing we have it for those unexpected times. pets best is just that. Some years ago, a college girlfriend's mom moved into assisted living. She would have been allowed to take Tamar, a 13-year-old dark gray American shorthair, with her, but didn't think she could give her the care and attention she deserved. So, I wound up taking Tamar home with me. The first thing I did when I got her was to sign her up for medical insurance. And, since Pets Best is the only company that will insure cats in their second decade, there wasn't any choice in the matter. Over the years, Tamar's kidney functions have steadily deteriorated to the point that I now give her daily subcutaneous fluids. It's been an emotional roller coaster, but never a financial one. The peace of mind that comes from knowing that I can ask the doctor to do what's best for Tamar, without worrying about what it'll do to my bank account, is immeasurable. A couple years or so after I brought Tamar home, Baihu, a young kitten born on the streets, decided he'd rather live under a roof with me. I signed him up the first day, too, and I hope Bets Best makes a very healthy profit from him over the course of his lifetime. I figure a couple decades of premiums for him should make up for what Tamar has racked up so far. Since there's no cure for feline renal failure, I know that Tamar's days are numbered. I don't know how Baihu will react when she's gone, but, if I ever adopt another cat, once again, on the very first day, I will enroll with Bets Best. more

Amazing Insurance for Pets 5/26/2010

I debated getting Pet Insurance and finally made the decision to obtain it. My husband scoffed and I signed us up with Pets Best anyway. In May, our dog Hannah had a digital abscess; after trying antibiotics they had to operate. Obviously, an expensive proposition. You paid the claims expediently. When I had a question, customer service was always professional, helpful and caring. I wish more human insurance companies were this professional! To say the least, my husband is now a believer. I refer you to all my friends who have or are thinking about obtaining a pet. Thank you so much. The peace of mind I had over this unforeseen incident is priceless. Very Dissapointed in Denial of a claim 5/10/2010

Saying it as "PERIODONTAL DISEASE" This is not the case, she was never diagnosed with it, and she is only 6 years old. I am extremely disheartened by this and will continue to fight it. Should some resolution and, and at the very least a "re-evaluation" of the claim opened, I will not stay with PetsBest and will find a different provider. I have referred many family members to PetsBest, and will be letting them know as well about this situation and to hold off on signing up just yet. They all have new puppies, and can wait a while if need be RESPONSE FROM Pets Best Insurance: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We reviewed your claim and determined that our initial decision was based on incomplete information. Pets Best is the best 4/20/2010

I switched from a very popular pet insurance, that in all fairness I will not mention here, but they have brochures all over the veterinarian offices. The switch was because the other company experienced a lapse in coverage due to my credit card getting lost and so when it came time to renew it lapsed for a few days. The other company gave me a very hard time over the older dog (8 1/2 year old Rottie) and I had to jump hoops to get it restored. That tells me they didn't want the older dog covered and they found a loop hole to get her off the policy. So I started a search for another company. I found Pet's Best. They were kind and said they didn't mind the age of my older dog at all. They also cover cancer, which is a real plus. What I really found great was that they cover any expense under their plan with 80% minus the $250 deductable. The other company covered what they thought was the price. The prices for the other company were based either on 1980 prices or somewhere with a really low income. Where I live, the actual price was at least double what they cover. Pet's Best came through on the claim and I just wanted to help endorse this great company. I will ask them for a few fists full of brochures and I will place them in vet's offices. Thanks again Pet's Best. You did come through when I needed it the most! more

Pets Best is the best! 4/16/2010

Pets Best Insurance has great customer service and speedy claims. My dog recently ruptured a disk in his spine which paralyzed him from the waist down. The vet performed surgery and he should regain the use of his legs, but it was very expensive. Knowing I had Pets Best to count on made the decision to ok the surgery a no-brainer. The reason I got insurance in the first place was so that if something ever were to happen to my dog, I would never be in a position where I would have to make a decision on his life. It is so great to know there is an insurance company like Pets Best who stands behind their word. So many insurance companies seem to try to find loopholes and wiggle their way out of paying claims. With Pets Best I know I never have to worry about that. They also process claims very quickly. I was able to put all the charges on my credit card, and they sent me a check before my bill arrived. It would have been problematic if they had taken months to process my claim because I wouldnâ??t have been able to pay off my credit card bill. I have been telling everyone I come across with pets about Pets Best and how they must get signed up immediately if they arenâ??t already insured. more
