Perricone's Marketplace & Cafe

For this price point, I was disappointed to find sandwiches made with lower quality prosciutto and tasteless baguettes. I came with high hopes, but it was not meant to be. At an upscale market, I expected to find Fever Tree or other artisanal drinks, and new delights. more

Must have's: Salmon salad and the Eggplant Parmigiana :) ... and don't forget to select you wine bottle from the small wine cellar. more

One of the best Italian restaurants in all of Miami. A beautiful place to sit outside and enjoy the Miami weather (as long as the weather is cooperating.) Eaten here many times and have never had a bad experience. Definitely my go to place when I need a nice restaurant for an evening on the town. Definitely a place everyone in Miami should experience at least once in their lifetime. more

Parking is impossible. The food is okay, but not great. The ambience is strange. Most of the place is outdoors, which is a very bad idea in a hot, humid, rainy, noisy town like Miami. \r \r When someone tries to get me to go to Perricone's with them, I suggest alternatives. more

This place came highly recommended by the front desk staff at our hotel in downtown Miami. Even on a Friday evening we had a table in a short 10 minutes. We enjoyed waiting in the market area chatting with the staff who offered us a sample of their amazing gelato. Dinner was fantastic!! We ordered off of the daily special menu and enjoyed the GIANT bone-in prime rib and grouper with a citrus beurre blanc. Both dishes were on our table in less than 10 minutes. The prime rib was succulent and well flavored well complimented by the horseradish served on the side. It was the best prime rib I've ever sampled EVER (even compared to the steaks in Omaha)!! The fish was flaky and delicious and well complimented by the beurre blanc. We did take a slice of house cake and banana cake to go. Either would be an excellent choice. Bottom line- this place is wonderful and perfect for any occasion. If I ever return to Miami I will look forward to making a visit to Perricone's. more

I recently came and dined at Perricone's for the first time Tuesday evening. The restaurant is top-notch in decor and menu selections. My server was attentive and responsive. However, as I was being seated I not only heard one but two managers treat the servers badly, in front of the customers! It was appalling the way they were being condescended and it was wholly unprofessional. Coming from a customer service career I could not believe anyone in their right mind hiring both managers, especially the one with his arm in a sling. Overall, I will never dine in this establishment and until theres a major turn around in management I will advise my friends to dine elsewhere, where service people are treated with respect. more

Went for lunch and got Grandma's Lasagna which is massive and tasted great. For desert, I went with the chocolate cake and it was really good too. The staff is really proffesional and friendly and they've got a big selection of pastries and deserts to go when you first walk in. The most impressive part of this restaurant for me was the area outside. It's filled with trees and plants and is a perfect environment for eating and would be a great date destination. This is my favorite restaurant in Miami, classic Italian eats. more

Food here is good, nothing special...just plain good. Now, if you love to drink wine as I do...they have an amazing array of wines and cheeses at the entrance, I'd say I actually enjoyed that I had to wait to get a table...i was able to walk around the market...It was like putting a kid in a candy store. Awesome. Try sitting in the garden area on a nice night with a bottle of wine... you'll thank me later. :D more

I've lived in the greater Miami area for 22 years and have been back to visit regularly for the past 9. I always have trouble finding restaurants in the city that are slightly upscale, yet with great food. Miami Beach is like a mine-field when it comes to rip off joints, seeking a quick buck off of tourists. \r \r Since we were going to a Heat game, I did some research to find the best restaurants in downtown Miami. I figured it was less of a tourist market down there, so there must be some decent places to eat. Perricone's came up at the top of the list, and after checking out their website, I fell in love. It is housed in a quaint little bungalow amidst the hi-rises of downtown. The front bar looked sexy as hell, and their menu seemed great yet reasonably priced. \r \r We arrived and were promptly seated in the back courtyard. The weather was perfect, and we prepared for a great meal. The smooth jazz blaring from the speakers wasn't what I was hoping for, but I ignored it and settled in with some of their bread and bruschetta topping. It was quite delicious and I eagerly anticipated the caprese and caesar salads we ordered for starters. \r \r Both came out almost immediately and showed signs of pre-preparation. The mozzarella and tomatoes were clearly prepared long before dinner and had been sitting in a cooler somewhere. The cheese had turned pink from touching the tomato, and the tomatoes had turned soggy from touching the cheese. The tomatoes skin also looked withered and dried out from sitting in the cooler for who knows how long. The caesar salad suffered from the same fate, as the lettuce had been sitting in the dressing in presumably the same cooler. \r \r For entrees, we tried 4 different meals: Eggplant Parmesan, Fiocchi Gorgonzola (pear and gorgonzola stuffed pasta pockets with a light cream sauce), The seafood pasta special, and the spinach ricotta ravioli.\r \r The Eggplant parmesan looked like a huge hunk of lasagne . It also came with whole wheat pasta. Most of their dishes were based around whole wheat pasta, which I really dislike. The first bite was excellent, but as I moved through the plate, other bites weren't as good. There was a variable consistency throughout the serving that I really didn't know what was coming next. Some bites were great, others very salty, and some were bland and soggy. \r \r The seafood pasta specialty was really bad. It cost 26 dollars, and featured muscles, shrimp, and scallops. At one point, my brother (who ordered it) said it tasted like a bathroom at the beach. \r \r The pasta pockets with gorgonzola and pear were quite good, but extremely difficult to finish. The flavor was very rich and the cream sauce became quite heavy after several bites. It was a good dish, but a bit too much .\r \r The ravioli was fine, nothing special, and nothing really to complain about .\r \r All in all, we were all disappointed with this place. I had high expectations, as it was one of the highest rated restaurants on this site. I'd say you could do better. more

I went to Perricone's for the very first time a few weeks ago for a celebratory brunch on behalf of my parents 25th Wedding Anniversary...I was VERY impressed! I had the Chilean sea bass and I couldn't put my fork down, it was divine. It had good vibes, I thouroughly enjoyed the service and the warm feel of the environment. Very family friendly, date friendly as well, or great to just to have a quick lunch with an old friend :) more

Our server, Erin, was very attentive but never annoying. We casually mentioned to the host that it was our anniversary and at the end of the meal we received a delicious piece of the house chocolate cake which was amazing. The atmosphere was great (roof was closed due to rain, but still open air) and live music was tasteful. We would definitely return when in Miami. Pros: Bruchetta, fettuchini w/ filet mignon more
