Utmost care 3/7/2011

I was just browsing through dog grooming places and I stumbled upon Golden Paw.......so glad that I did! I am the one that gets nervous when I drop her off to people(not Ginger) but the people there are so wonderful! You dont have to wait forever to get an appiontment like most places in San Diego either! The prices are great too!!! When I picked her up she looked so pretty and I could tell that they took the utmost care of my sweetie! more

Very helpful 3/1/2011

Usually if you have a pet they quickly become a part of your family. You find yourself talking to it as if it were a person. That's why when we had to leave for the weekend and our normal pet sitter wasn't available my family was in a panic. I asked around for opinions and even got a few vet recommendations and The Golden Paw got rav reviews. The staff really put my mind at ease. It seemed more like the dog was going away and not me. They make it easy on the pets, they can get groomed or bathed while they are there. And the best part is the live web cam. If at any time you are uncertain about the welfare of your pet all you have to do it log in and watch. VERY HELPFUL for nervous pet owners. The service is a little expensive but I'm sure knowing your pet is in good hands is well worth the cost. more

Great place to keep your dog 2/22/2011

Going on a trip? This is a great place to keep your dog while you are away. If you are anything like me, you worry about your puppy when you are on a trip and this place has a greay system to help you. They have cameras in their center to allow you to watch 24/7. Before I dropped off my dog, I watched the videos a lot to see if there was anything I didn't like about how they treated the animals and I always so kindness. This is a winner. more

So great and professional 2/9/2011

I have always had a really hard time leaving my dog with someone I don't know, but as fate would have it I needed to attend a seminar for work. While taking my dog to the dog park in Ocean Beach I over heard some people raving about this so called dog kennel in Bay Park. As I mumbled under my breath I would never leave my dog at some compound.... So I didnt have a choice, no one could help me with Oliver, I broke down at the last minute and gave the Golden Paw a call 2 days before I had to leave. Luckily Oliver had all his shots and they had availibility. I had the red eye on Thursday and I worked all day had to pack and the best part is I got to spend time with Oliver and drop him off right before my red eye to New York. The ladies were so great and very professional. I was blown away, Oliver stayed in a suite with a web-cam and TV. As nervous as I was I got to see him before I went to my seminars and even when I got into the Hotel. The Golden Paw by far Oliver's new home away from home... more

Been a loyal customer ever since 2/3/2011

I have been going to the Golden Paw since they opened in 2001 a lot has changed since but it seems to have been all for the better. I love how caring the staff is and how willing they are to care for my dogs. I have two dogs, one who is 13 and needs special care and the other a 7 month old puppy who is full of energy. I love that when I walk through that door the front desk staff knows who I am and the names of each dog. I love that that staff takes the time to get to know both me and my dogs on a more personal level I don't feel like I am just another client to them. I'll be the first to admit I can be a little over protective of my babies but the staff deals with me and all my craziness with out even batting an eye. One of the big things that sold me on the Golden Paw was I didn't have to come at a certain time for a tour or set up an appointment like all other places it made me feel like they weren't hiding something from me and I have been a loyal customer ever since.\r more

Staff was friendly 1/31/2011

I don't usually write reviews unless I want to complain, but I had such a great experience today at the Golden Paw that I just have to tell everyone. I have a cocker spaniel that was a little dirty/smelly/matted, and I brought her to the GP today for grooming. The head groomer is a nice lady named Pat, and she did such a terrific job that Jenny looks and smells great. She even let Pat brush her teeth! And the best part of the day - I couldn't pick her up right away, so they put Jennie into their doggie daycare playroom. So, I got to watch her run around and play with her new doggie friends on the webcam all afternoon! When I picked her up, the staff was friendly and interested in my Jenny, and knew her name and everything. I haven't boarded Jennie overnight anywhere, but if I ever need to, I'm going to take her to the Golden Paw. more

I heartily recommend to anyone 1/26/2011

We have been bringing our little furry friend to the Golden Paw for 3 years now, and have always felt as if they were part of our family. Biscuit has always loved his stays at the Paw, be it for boarding, day play, or to get a bath. We love the fact we can watch him romp and play with the other dogs via webcam on their website. The staff is always accommodating and makes us feel like not only Biscuit matters and is important, but that we are too. I would heartily recommend the Paw to anyone that needs to leave their dog in someone's care. We will continue to use them for many years to come. more

My dog loves these guys! 1/20/2011

This is a great place to board your dog.  Sometimes I feel like the staff loves my dog even more than me!  The facilities are super clean and the staff is very attentive.  My dog is like a child to me and this is the only place where I can drop him off and not think twice about it.\r more

High standards 1/13/2011

The Paw is the only place I'll board my dog. The staff is attentive to the clients (both human and canine) and they maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety. I trust my dog in their care. Were it not for The Paw, I don't know what I would do. It's wonderful to be able to leave town and not have to worry about my dog! more

Kind and supportive 1/13/2011

Cody has been going to the golden paw since he was 4 months old - he is now 8 ! I recently had a heart attack and no one to take care of Cody during my emergency stay. The staff was very kind and supportive. We would not go anywhere else. The staff are super friendly and professional. The other doggies are Cody's friends and their owners are nice too ! more

The staff at The Golden Paw immeditely put us at ease about boarding our dog. I especially love the private rooms, which are nicer than the standard caged kennel. They also offer doggie day play, with an area for small dogs and an area for large dogs. more

Recommend - The best care 12/30/2010

The Golden Paw is a great place. I have been taking my dog there for the past 4 years and have received nothing but the best care for him and I would recommend them. I love that we can get him groomed at the end of his stay and also that he can do day play while staying. more

A blessing in disguise 12/30/2010

The Golden Paw has been a blessing in disguise for our Ollie, the staff is phenomenal, the flexibility with drop off times have made it so much easier for us to not have to make 2 trips, we are able to drop him off and go straight to the airport. We are more than impressed with the facilities, not to mention with the webcams in his luxury suite as well as in the toy den areas we have an extra reassurance that our ""baby"" is taken care of. We have always taken advantage of all the services that the Golden Paw has to offer weather it is day pay, grooming, or boarding we have been pleased. Oliver enjoys each and every one of his stays and we know you will too! more

I love this place 12/29/2010

I love this place! I take my little pooch at least 3 times a week for doggie daycare and get her groomed once a month there as well. Pat and Paula are soooo good with making her bath a happy one, she even gets a blueberry facial :) Yes, she's spoiled, but she deserves it. She absolutely loves playing with her friends in the daycare room, and I don't have to worry about taking her to the park after work. The staff is very attentive and always lets me know how she did (even if she had a hard time and misbehaved) It's rare and wonderful to have people be honest with me about my sweet girl I know she can be a handful at times. Yeah Golden Paw! more

This place is great 12/28/2010

This place is great. They are totally organized and treat our dogs as if they are the only doggies in their care. I can't imagine a kennel that has their act together more than Golden Paw. This place is high-end with doggie suites and an attentive staff....Cool for people like us, whose dogs are their kids. more

Above and beyond 12/15/2010

We took our two dogs to the Golden Paw for the first time, and it was a great experience! It was the first time that we boarded them, and were very nervous about leaving them for the first time. Not only were the rates reasonable, but the staff went above and beyond the call of duty. more
