alot of fun! 10/17/2005

When people think of Myrtle Beach, the first thing that probably comes to mind is the Myrtle Beach Pavilion. This place features rides sure to please everybody from kids to seniors, plenty of arcades, eateries, and gift shops. Recently, the entire place was fenced off so now you must pay to enter, even if you don’t plan on riding the rides, which is sad, since trolling the Pavilion was always a childhood pleasure. For Myrtle Beach, this place is not bad. more

Fun for the whole family 10/9/2005

The Myrtle Beach Pavillion is a mainstay of summertime fun in the south. I've been going there for as long as I can remember, and it's just as fun as it always was. I believe that now you have to pay admission to get into the Pavillion--in the past, it was free to walk in and you just bought tickets for the rides. There are tons of rides and amusement park games and an arcade and they've got the carnival food and atmosphere to go along with it. Very much fun and the reason that people go to Myrtle Beach to begin with. Highly reccomended. only open between Memorial Day & Labour Day, I believe. more

Fun Fun Fun in the Sun Sun Sun 9/30/2005

I love the Pavillion. I took my daughter there all the time when she was a wee babe and we were in MB with my parents for Shriners Conventions. The Pavillion now, as an adult with a grown daughter is just as fun. I don't know...there's something almost magical about stepping through the gates and getting the whole sensation---the smell of corn dogs and elephant ears, the blinging sounds of the arcade, the sticky feel of the floor under your feet, and the unsettling wetness that is present in the seat of every ride. But it's all fun. Even if you're not a ride-rider (like me), it's great just to walk around and see other people on the rides. To me, it's the experience that counts not just the attractions. Granted, they do have some major rides and games--it's like the county fair, only it's not open for just a week, but for nearly 6 months out of the year. No visit to MB is complete without a stop at the Gay Dolphin (see my review on that) and the Pavillion. more
