I am visiting here from Chicago. My cousin frequents Paulie's because of their food. She wanted to take me there to experience it. The experience was HORRIBLE. They first almost over charged us by $10.00. Our meal was $25.87 and the cashier rung it up for over $35.00. But we caught the error, stuff happens. While we were waiting for our food, I wanted to order a latte. Since they didn't have soy milk, the waitress suggested an Americano (double). I decided I only wanted to pay for one shot of Americano. She was rude when I changed it--before she prepared it-- and she serve me a regular coffee. I was taken aback more from her rudeness and asked to speak to the manager. As I was explaining my concern to him (actual owner), he literally cut me off and said ""if you don't like how we serve coffee, don't order it."" WOW. I was shocked. I decided, if this is how he was going to handle me (as a customer), I don't want to eat his food! I took my order back and asked for my refund and kindly told him why. His response was to the ""coffee girl"" refund her the money, Jesus Christ! She figured out how much it was and threw it on the counter. A customer witnessed it and told me that she comes there often and told the waitress she was rude. The owner came over and told me to ""get out and never come back and...he put his hands on me. I told him to take his hand off of me. He threatened to call the police and I invited him to. That was the worse experience I've ever encounted! His food may be good, but even if he didn't ask me to come back, I wouldn't have. There are some instances where service isn't so great or rather bad and you think to yourself, I'm not coming back or using those services again. But after a while you give it another shot, just to give the business another chance and the benefit of the doubt. Usually, it's much better. Paulie's, on the other hand is a place where good service would be sporadic! If you eat there, you would may enjoy your food, but good luck with the service! I don't know about you, but there are hundreds of places where food is very good and many of those have great service. Food doesn't taste good when service is distasteful!
