Paul Beaune' NY Salon

Most people dislike going to the dentist and will wait to go until they have too. For me an appt. to have my hair done creates anxiety and I dread going and try to put it off as long as I can. I was a former customer of Paul Beaune years ago then I moved and had to find another salon. I since then moved back to Charlotte and was in search for a hair salon. I chose a salon that was close to my home and had a terrible experience and it has taken months for my hair to grow out. A couple weeks after my bad haircut that was suppose to be a trim, I remembered Paul Beaune ""How could I have forgot such a great salon with a friendly staff."" I set up an appt. and met a new hair stylist named Jessica. I explained to her my recent bad experience and ask her if there was any way she could salvage the bad haircut. Jessica was amazing, she listened and then let her talent begin the process of my transformation of bad haircut into an amazing haircut. I don't know how she did it, I thought I would have to wait months to look somewhat normal again. Paul Beaune is now my salon again and if I have to drive a couple hours to get my haircut in the future I will. I tell friends that I consider Paul Beaune NY for new home for life.... more

I cannot describe how happy I am that I have finally found the Top Hair Salon in Charlotte!! One of my friends has this gorgeous Trendy Cut and Gorgeous Lush Color. I had to ask where she got her hair cut and who was her stylist. Her hair looks so healthy and glistens from just the right products. I was able to call the Paul Beaune Salon and get an appointment with Jordan! When I arrived you could just feel the warmeth from the staff that you were special to them. Every woman and man I am sure that walks through their doors are special. They greeted me with a warm smile and offered me ice water with fruit in it. The beautiful way their salon is laid out is very open and airey. Everyone in the salon is so happy and you could really tell that it would be the place where you would want to come back too. Jordan who cut my hair is so talented and very easy to talk too. I didn't have to ask her to show me how to fix my new cut...when she was drying my hair she just explained how. I didn't feel like another person that was sitting in her chair and I was on a conveyor belt getting the same haircut that everyone else had gotten. Jordan really does care and wants you to look beautiful as well as be happy!!! I have only wished that I had found the Paul Beaune Salon when I first moved here so I wouldn't of had to of gone through breakage of hair and so many many bad hair cuts. This past Saturday I had my color appointment with Jordan, and I shared that I wanted my hair to be my natural color with a few natural looking highlights. She asked me some questions about what color I was wanting and then started mixing this beautiful color. When she was finished it was just so perfect!! My hair is so soft, glistens as well as is healthy!! My hair hasn't looked this good in years! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Jordan and also everyone that works there. I got an appointment with Amanda for a cut & color the first time I came here, and I haven't let anyone else touch my hair since. I have short hair that I love to play with, and I've always had the problem of stylists giving me one or two good cuts, then something super boring or hasty or not what I wanted. Amanda's cuts only get better. I have thick hair, and as it grows out it's getting harder to manage. The last haircut Amanda gave me cut my blow-dry time in half! She really takes her time, shapes it beautifully, and gives cuts that look good weeks longer than any I've had before. I live in DC now, but I'm planning trips back to NC whenever I can to get a cut by Amanda! more

I noticed that my hair was breaking a lot and I started to try other salons to find better coloring care. It was a big adjustment for me to leave a long established relationship with a stylist, but I had to recognize that the service was not up to par anymore. That led me through an uncomfortable period of salon hopping all over this city and by the time I got to Paul Beaune NY Salon, my hair was completely destroyed. I had to wear a baseball cap to my first appointment! I was in a state of panic and slightly depressed that I was even in this situation. The hair was so damaged from re-coloring, that a Brazilian treatment was recommended to smooth out the hair shafts. As my hurt hair grew out, we started trying to figure out my color strategy going forward. I had been highlighting my hair for over twenty years and am starting to grey a little. I needed an approach that I would love and my fine hair could tolerate. The salon owner, Ann Marie, was very sensitive to my worries and really approached my situation with a long term perspective in mind, which now I am very thankful for. I moved here from up north and have always been the impatient fix it now type! While getting my color strategy on track, we also experimented with a fun, fashionable hair cut that is easy for me to style on my own. After so many years of just having bangs and long hair, I now have a stylish look that my family, friends, business associates and even strangers have taken notice of. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have stumbled on this great neighborhood salon. It feels like family when you are there. You don't feel like you are on an assembly line or one of three heads being worked on in a stuffy, over-scheduled, crowded, hurried atmosphere. Even though this is a high-quality salon, you don't feel like you have to dress up just to get your hair done. It has a boutique feel and features nice little gifts for everyone in your family in the waiting area. I bought a lot of my stocking stuffers for Christmas last year and plan to again! In addition to the talented and caring service I continue to receive, I love the little touches this salon offers....like the lounge chairs with ottomans to lift your feet up while you are processing (what a great idea!!) and the fruit-infused iced water or wine offerings by staff. And for those of you who are fans of the french haircare line, Kerastase, this is absolutely the place for you! the staff could not be nicer. However the quality of skill in hair was one of the worst I have experience in my 40 years of getting my hair done. I had a picture, was with the top stylist and wanted a simple frosting. After $150.00 later I came out of the place with orange hair.no frosting and looked worst thena when I went into the salon. It was nothing like my picture and I could not go back to have it redone because of over processing my hair. I had a big event to go to and I look like carrot top. They are selling snake oil. They do not know how to do hair. The prices are way too high. The salon is nice the people are nice but the skill level is 1. I do not know how they can stay in business. more

I recently visited this salon after searching for a long time. Amanda gave me a great haircut and it was worth every penny. She not only made me look better on the outside but also made me feel better on the inside! more

I was very disappointed to spend so much money at a salon that thinks there modern or Carmen and Carmen. They clearly fall short of being high end. more

This is the perfect place to go when you are stressed. The salon is very clean and modern looking. You are greeted immediately and made to feel very comfortable. I was lucky to have an appt. with the owner, Ann Marie, who is a perfectionist. She is into all the new trends and does a lot of training to keep current with new styles. She can look at you and know how to make you look your best. Even if it isn't the kind of cut you were thinking of, it doesn't matter, you will come out looking beautiful, and chances are, you needed a change to keep feeling young and fresh and not dull. Everyone needs a change now and then. And I love the Kerastase products. My hair has never looked or felt better. Give yourself a treat. I will definitely be going back. more

This was the second salon I visited after I moved to Charlotte. I was pretty excited to go since the owner seemed to have some great experience and she had her staff go to NY for training. I booked an appointment for a cut and color (but not with the owner). The salon was nice enough and so was the stylist. I showed her three pictures of the haircut I wanted -- front/back/side views. Okay, I thought this would be helpful. Well, I ended up with a completely different haircut. I guess she ""customized"" it just like at the previous salon I visited. What's up with that? The color was totally not what I asked for -- again, nobody here seems to know the definition of ""avant-garde."" For the money and the claim of ""NY Style"", I say, find another salon -- if you can!!! People who are used to going to ""NY- style"" salons may go once but they won't return. Very disappointing. I really hoped you would be the one!!! more

When you enter this salon, it's like a wave of fresh air!. The decor alone will give you an energizing sense of a cool beach breeze - very South Beach. The person who greets you at the desk is friendly and competent. My stylist is creative and talented and knows how to communicate with me about what I want; she also knows what products work best on my hair. Prices were discussed before any service was performed. The owner, AnnMarie Becker is focused on her people being professional as well as being continually educated on new trends. I always feel like I am being pampered when I'm in this salon. I particularly like the product line they use (Kerastase and Bumble & Bumble)- for someone with ""problem"" hair like mine, their products always do what they promise to.
