Best

Always fantastic!

Worst

Worst experience ever. Good food, but the service is horrible. After being seated with my dinner party it took 15 minutes before we even got someone to look at our table. Funny...

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/10/2012

Don't eat this filth! We ordered 2 overpriced pizzas which were disgusting. After trying to complain to 2 wait staff we were ignored and so we walked out. The manager chased us down the street, grabbed us and called 911! Ambiance was very bad. The tables were crammed so close together that you can't breathe and the wait staff trip over you. They had a horrible radio station on the background pumping out bad commercial dance music. I've had better microwave pizza. more

Worst lunch I?ve had in NYC 9/1/2008

Maybe it?s that it was lunch, maybe it was the proximity to a holiday weekend, maybe it was the fixed price menu, but my hunch is none of those can really explain away the worst meal I?ve had in this city. The service was deathly slow with a largely empty dining room (4 waiters + 1 hostess waiting tables on the side & 10 tables seated), I cannot imagine what it would be like on a packed night. The service was unresponsive: we asked for water every time a staff member came near the table, we finally got it with dessert. The food was not as described in the menu (numerous substitutions / removals). Pros: Location Cons: Everything else more

Disgusting 3/15/2008

This is quite possibly the worst Italian meal I have ever had in New York. The salad was drowned in dressing with croutons that came out of a box. The pastas were undercooked, the vegetables overcooked. My boyfriends cream sauce had old walnuts on it, which ruined the whole dish, which was also drowning in the sauce. The tiramisu was horrendous, tasteless, cheaply made and disgusting. The bread was dry and heated under a microwave or heat lamp. At the end of the meal, we complained, but not only did the manager not come speak to us, but they only gave us $10 off our bill because they said we didn't complain soon enough - what the heck does THAT mean??? NEVER go here. It is an embarassment. Cons: Awful food, poor service, DO NOT eat here more

Bowler's new favorite 5/6/2007

I went out with captain for Cinco de Mayo and happened upon Pasta Presto by sheer chance as all the Mexican joints were packed to sh*t. We usually frequent Luigino's next door and wanted to try something different and Presto's menu did the trick. I was immediately taken in by the European cafe-style ambiance, exposed brick, and open-air candlelight seating (not to mention the patrons' meals which I was eagerly devouring with my hungry eyes). Pros: great food, great ambiance, cheap more

great atmosphere, great food! 6/15/2006

I went here on a date on a Friday night. We sat outside and it was very romantic. The food here was tasty and huge portions! It is definately a good place to go if you're thinking of relaxing awhile with your food, good company and a bottle of wine! Pros: affordable, great atmosphere Cons: restaurant was very busy more

Horrible and stale food 1/26/2006

This is the so far from fresh itialian it's not even funny. Everything tasted a couple days old. The salad was soggy, the bread was hard, the pasta dishes were cold and poorly made. The sauces were from a huge bin for sure. Service was bad and our orders were wrong when they came out and still made us pay for the wrong one. If you are itilian, you will be the only one in the joint. Deeeeeeepressing. more

Good food, slow service 1/27/2005

The food here is nothing spectacular, but it is a good value for the price. The price and the food keeps me going back, but only go if you have 2-3 hours to spare... the service is incredibly slow. Pros: inexpensive, ambiance Cons: very slow service more

Bad Food, even worse service 7/17/2004

The food was medicore: The pre-dinner bread was no better than plain, Wonder bread; the shrimp scampi was too salty and buttery, and the grilled salmon was a bit dry. My companion ordered a meal that was supposed to come with asparagus. They gave her brocolli; and made no apologies for the switch. The waitress was completely unattentive: she was unfamiliar with the menu, she did not tell us her name, did not ask how our meal was going, and left the restaurant - back pack and all - before we had even paid. Needless to say, we did not leave a tip! Pros: Sidewalk cafe, reasonable prices more

Great food & Great Service! 3/23/2004

The food is great and very inexpensive. The ambiance is very enjoyable, and everytime I go here the service is superb; props to Milton the General Manager!!! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who is looking for great Italian food at an affordable price. One of my favorites; a perfect 10! Pros: Inexpensive, Nice Service, Great Food more

Bad Experience 7/14/2003

Worst experience ever. Good food, but the service is horrible. After being seated with my dinner party it took 15 minutes before we even got someone to look at our table. Funny thing the restaurant was empty. The waitress paid close attention to all the patrons dinning outside the restaurant, but when she finally got to our table she never introducted herself. She then informed us that what ever you wanted had to be gotten now because the kitchen closed at 10:30pm, it's now 10:50. Had to ask her who she was, never offered water, disappeared after she brought our food. The next time we saw her is when we wanted to pay the check she came over and said are you done? I would never in my life go here again or recommend it to anyone. Well maybe if you wanted to feed you dog. Pros: Food Cons: Service, Waiters more

sg 5/12/2003

Knowing nothing about the restaurant, we stumbled upon it last night and was more than pleasantly surprised. I would highly recommend it for the huge, inexpensive meal and enormous amount of choices. All three meals we had were great and the service was perfect. I'd definitely go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a restaurant in the area. Pros: Outdoor tables, private room, prix fixed more

not a 10! 10/19/2002

I thought the location, the room, and the service were a pleasant departure from the aloof/trendy restaurants in NYC - but the food was a MAJOR disappointment - I hope this was an unusual experience as this restaurant had been recommended... more
