Parthenon Greek Restaurant

I have eaten at the Parthenon probably 15 times since 2000. I've had just about everything on the menu, and I truly can't pick a favorite a dish, other than whatever I had last. Sea bass, lamb, filet mignon, shrimp, lobster tail,portobello mushrooms, etc... Its all cooked and seasoned to perfection. Peter and Gus, the brothers who own the Parthenon, always come out to the table to make sure that I am enjoying their creation. It also tells a lot about a restaurant, that Sam, their topknotch waiter, has been there for as long I have been going there. In response to the review saying the restaurant is not kid friendly, I would have to disagree. I have a four year old daughter who has been at least 3 times, starting at about 1 years old, and we have always been treated great. I do however make my children behave so as not to ruin everyone's dining experience. more

My father immigrated from Greece and at 91, loves to find a good Greek restaurant. When my brother was in town a couple of months ago, we decided to try the Parthenon. Fortunately, I read the reviews here and ordered the Sea Bass. Words cannot describe how delicious it was...and I don't like sea food! The appetizers were wonderful and the staff was gracious. I will definately return for the sea bass...it will be hard to try other items on the menu because this was soooo good. Maybe I'll just get bites off the plates of my friends! This restaurant has a very quaint, quiet, and relaxed atmosphere. The wine is excellent, BUT the Sea Bass is a must try dish. It is grilled to perfection every time. I have been to "The Parthenon" on several different occasions just for the Sea Bass and to expect that at least one time it not be prepared to perfection, but that has yet to happen. Each and every time I leave with a smile on my face. You may think the Sea Bass is a bit pricey but there is no limit to the amount I would pay for this dish. more

With so few Greek places to choose from in Cow Town, we are fortunate to have one this good. We've tried half the items on the menu and been pleased with all of them. My favorite is the gyro platter, both for the quality, and quantity of food. Nothing like heating great leftovers at the office for lunch on a Monday! Pros: Great food more

For the last five years, I have had the pleasure of dining many times at the Parthenon and have come to know and love the food and the two delightful Greek Cypriot brothers who own and run the restaurant. The service and attention provided by Gus, Peter and their staff has always been exemplary and the food delightful. To characterize them as food Nazi's or crusty is laughable. If you enjoy good food of any type, the Parthenon will not disappoint. The owners and waitstaff will only add to your enjoyment and if you return, they will soon be your friends. more

I've been to the Parthenon Greek Resturant on numerous occasions over the last several years. Some of these occasions were private dining with just my husband, several were for very large (16+) family birthday or holiday celebrations, and two times at large business functions and going away parties. Regardless of the occasion I have always found the owners, Gus and Peter, and the wait staff to go above and beyond my expectations in providing DELICIOUS meals, courteous and prompt service, and a warm and welcoming environment. I would highly recommend!! more

I just read the review of the guy who got kicked out of the Parthenon because of his two year olf daughter and laughed out loud. The owner guy is like The Soup Nazi from Seinfeld and he can be an absolute jerk - but the food is so unbelievably delicious that if the guy wanted to parade around the dining room with a dancing bear and while having knife fights with the waitstaff, I would not be inconvenienced at all. I'm glad they got the boot- this place is FINE DINING - not the local Shoney's feedlot special. The food is so delicious that you want to cry a little with every bite. I love the Parthenon - I love the grouchy owner because he adds a certain quirk and charachter to the place- and I love the lack of misbehaving rugrats and their inconsiderate parents ruining the experience. My wife and I took our two year old daughter to this restaurant. The awful man, who I assume is the owner/manager, did not like the fact that our daughter was dumping salt and sugar into her water. Just as he came over and barked at us that we needed to make her behave she reached over and accidentally dumped her glass over. With this he immediately asked us to leave and never come back. I'll admit we could have reigned our daughter in a bit, but it wasn't as if she was being loud and disruptive to the other patrons. Her behavior did not warrant a refusal of service. I will take a special delight when this place closes down for good. Judging by the fact that at 7:30 in the evening there were only two other parties seated, it won't be long. more
