Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa

used to love the Seafood buffet along with everything at the Four Seasons Aviara. I had my wedding there and it was completely amazing. However since Park Hyatt took over the management I returned last night for the seafood buffet, and it was a horrible disappointment! The Park Hyatt has raised the price 5 additional dollars and reduced immensely the quality!!! There were huge lines of people 8 deep waiting multiple times for over 5 minutes for lobster that kept running out. The poor server kept having to run back to the kitchen check on it with no help. The salad options were very limited along with the entrees. When the server did get lobster he ran out within minutes because all the people waiting converged and then the waiting would begin again and another line would build. This happened I believe 4 or 5 times during my dinner. People were complaining right and left. The desert section used to be sublime and a culinary Disney experience when it was Four Seasons now it is definitely a not!!!! It is half the size and nothing to even waist your calories on. I am so disappointed I have always loved Aviara. The property is still beautiful, but do not bother eating there. I wonder if Park Hyatt will keep this property up in the long run. I am so sad and disappointed!!!! more

I really don't know the area but I bought a Frommers book trying to find great dining and good wines but it had nothing that told me anything so the hotel I was staying at was indeed all that I was seeking including \r wonderful musicians. We to ask where the resturant was and was greeted by very polite staff and sat us immediately. Then came the wines great selection of many wines on the menu our choice was shariz and was quite smooth. Then I ordered home made coppa roasted golden beets with fallbrook radish and castelmagno cheese ........was incredible. I loved the teas was exeptional the best I have had in a while. Since I order the finest in Thailand there selection included loose teas by mighty leaf and feel in love with\r oolong teas wow! The waiter was so attentive and friendly it made my dining pleasurable. He then served us the sweet sugarsnap peas and wild asperagus poached egg anson mills soft polenta black truffle and main dish was black spaggetti and shimp with calabrese sausage was so inviting. I want all of you to know that even at the bar the bartender had a strange laugh that mad you want to laugh. I truly had the time of my life staying and meeting new friends that you feel at home@ Thank you 4 seasons on making my stay a so pleasurable. Rooms are very clean and tidy.
