Best

I am going to start this off by saying this is one of my favorite places to go, if not my favorite place to go in Boston. I was born and raised in this city and in my opinion, I ...

Worst

This place used to be great --- fun, friendly servers, lively atmosphere, and prompt service of delicious food. Not so much as of late --- the servers are poorly trained, rude, a...

Gotta go back 3/12/2003

This bar is great. Always updating the drink and food menu makes this a constant favorite. The service is bar none. You can't help but come back after you debate heavily over the sandwhiches or apps. You choose one and its great, but you need to go back to sample the others that you contemplated. The drinks are unique and reasonably priced. All around a great spot now and again. Pros: Service, Choice, Price more

Place to Hang 2/23/2003

Great place to go on a Sunday, sit at the bar, have a sandwich and read one of the Sunday papers provided (Globe, Herald, NY Times). Unassuming 20/30 something crowd provides a backdrop for people watching. more

still the best secret 1/23/2003

There isn't a better place in the city to get great quality, great tasting food, especially for late night. Sure, you can get late-night eats at a number of spots in town, but you'll be feeling it in the morning. The food is mostly sandwiches, but these are not your standard ham'n swiss. Every sandwich was designed by some of the best chefs in Boston and with that comes quality. They also understand the concept that most people are there to socialize, not listen to their music selection (although, surprisingly, they show taste in what they play). The wine and beer selection is above average and you are pretty likely to get service w/out attitude. more

good times 11/6/2002

I always have good experiences here. The food is creative and delicious and the atmosphere is always happening. Some of the sandwiches are a little pricey, but the location is great. Pros: people watching in the summer, casual dining Cons: $10 grilled cheese sandwich? more

Well, OK 10/10/2002

The food wasn't bad, but for the price, I expected better. It's been months since I've eaten there, so the details are foggy, but I remember that something we got was burnt. Also, the menu claimed that a certain item would have white beans. It came with chickpeas. Although this isn't fine dining, I would've liked the waiter to briefly note the difference when we placed the order. (Are chickpeas considered white beans? They're really more yellow and a rather different texture.) I don't regret trying the place, but I'm not sure I'll return. (The mixed drinks did look interesting.) Pros: outside seating, drink menu Cons: pricey, crowded more

More then just a sandwich 8/24/2002

A wonderful lunch...perfectly presented and reasonable.....Excellent service, friendly wait staff and no long wait...perhaps because it was a damp day in Bean town. Pros: reasonably priced, excellent quality, good service Cons: dark interior more

If you like your food interesting 8/22/2002

If you like interesting food this is the place to go. They have a variety of sandwiches and entrees from different chefs. The food was great. I give the wait staff credit, this place gets packed at dinner time and they seem to right on top of everything. If you are a picky eater, this is not the place for you, but everyone else, check it out, it is well worth it. Pros: Food, People, Waitstaff Cons: Noisy, Can get crowded more

Best sandwiches! 8/3/2002

Amazing menu. With contributions of sandwiches from almost a who's who list of chefs from the area. This is a can't miss place for lunch and a great place to casually impress a date. The food is amazing. (try the zuni roll). The bar is great too. Definitely worth the trip. Two can eat and drink easily under $30. Great for large groups, lunch, a drink, pretty much anything... a great place. Pros: menu, atmosphere, location more

So many choices... 8/2/2002

Always a good back-up plan: the food is good, the wait is never too long, open late, friendly staff. Every sandwich I've tried has been delicious. The outdoor seating makes this a great lunch spot in the summer. Pros: great food, fun menu, open late more

Best sandwiches in the area! The service is great and the bar is the place to be. Try the martini's and the Regis. more

Delicious! 6/25/2002

How can you go wrong with such a concept - a chef from one of the top restaurants in Boston creates something on the menu especially for this restaurant. Multiply this twenty times over and this is the menu at Parish Cafe. Each dish is specially created for them by a top chef in Boston. Try the Ambrosian, English, or Rialto - they are all good. And for those of us who are regulars (tried everything on the menu twice over) the daily specials are a treat! Pros: Expansive selection, Great beers, Great Martinis more

Not what it used to be... 6/21/2002

The specials and salads are usually extremely yummy, however, I see that the word has caught on about this little cafe al fresco and it seems that the Parish can no longer keep up the quality of the supply with the demand. Servers are overwhelmed with crowds and cooks just can't keep the quality up. Sandwiches are still good-partially because of the unique toasting of the wraps. The sides were stale and lousy. It seems the Parish just got too big for its britches. Pros: Choices, Friendliness Cons: Service, Food, Crowd control more

Great sandwiches 5/31/2002

Parish Cafe is one of my favorite places to go to grab a fantastic sandwich. Sandwiches are the creations of well-known Boston chefs. I really love the Norma's Zuni Roll, created by Norma Gillaspie, Chef/Owner Cottonwood Cafe, Boston. Their potato salad is great too, but it's only served during the colder months. They serve pasta salad during the warmer months. The waitstaff has always been pleasant when I've gone. I would recommend trying the Parish Cafe on your next visit to Boston. more
