Wow, what happened? 12/14/2008

Hey, I just got done playing papago today after it's ""restoratiion"" and let's just say the thrill is gone! We were dupped into paying $100 bucks a player and I couldn't tell if I was in a bunker or on a green. This place flat out sucked! Big deal, so they cut down some trees and put sand in the traps. The front bunker on 11 is gone and so is the clubhouse, and I was told a new one won't be built for two more years. Right now, this golf course isn't worth ten bucks. Don't even bother waisting your money. Pros: cute cart girl Cons: the green fee more

Play elsewhere 3/3/2003

I have recently relocated to Phoenix from Chicago, and have been trying for the last 2 months to get a early Saturday tee time at Papago. I finally secured a tee time for 3/01/03. What a complete joke this course is! The only thing harder than finding a tee time here , is finding a patch of grass on the fairways. Greens are horrible, tee boxes an embarrasment, and just an overrall poorly kept course. Heed my advice and avoid playing ""Papaghetto."" more

why is this course crowded? 3/1/2003

I played Papago recently and won't go back. The course isn't maintained at all. It was brown. There was no water in the ball washers. I saw the beverage cart once. It took almost 5 hours to finish because of slow players. If you want a good value on a muni course, go to Cave Creek. I must say that I did like the layout of the course. Pros: layout Cons: no upkeep, poor value, slow play more

you gotta be kidding! 8/4/2002

I have been a resident of the Phoenix area for over 25 years and for the last 20 years Papago has been going further and further down hill. The restrooms are always dirty, the cart path are shot, the turf conditions are marginal and the service is poor. Anything else you would like to know? more
