Never disappointed 1/9/2006

I've been going to J.C for the last three years for haircut, highlights and coloring. I would never go anywhere alse (either my friends)! Whatever I wanted my hair to look like and it was approved by J.C I got it. Honest, professional and fun stuff. more

LOVE PANYC 1/4/2006

I've been going to PANYC for about two years now and have a great experience every time. Mary Lou does THE BEST highlights and is completely honest about what color will and will not work for you. I have had people stop me in the street and say they have been trying forever to get their color the same as mine. Paul cuts my hair (but everyone there is good) and gives the best blowouts afterwards. He will never cut too much or not enough and is very receptive to your concerns and ideas. Everyone there is so nice, well trained, professional and FUN! Pros: fun atmosphere, skilled stylists more

the coolest salon in nyc 12/26/2005

I whent there to get a hair style and i felt like i set in the living room with some freinds, the guys at the salon where cool and laid back, i didn't have that stuffy feeling that i want it to end allready, they don't just listen to you as a curtesy by noding their head, they give you a glass of wine and talk to you like freinds about everything while they realy did somthing nice to my thining hair. highly recomended great talents with really great atmosphire. I have been looking for the best place to get my hair cut since I moved to NYC six years ago. it was a tough journey but at last it paid off!! PANYC - I have only good things to say about those guys - Peofessional, up to date with the latest in hair and style in general, use only the best products for my type of hair , extremely friendly and comfortable atmosphere, and flexible appointments. Unbelievable find! Unbelievably professional using top notch/groundbreaking hair products + processes... super stylemakers with star personality (hullo...NO ATTITUDE here either!)...clean...unpretentious...very reasonably priced for the quality of care and service you receive...simply fab fab hair maestros! MaryLou is my color goddess...Peanut is the rockstar of all mini.dachs...JC, Chris and the man himself, Paul Simon...great cuts, unparalleled color scientists...good music boomin (not too loud...just perfecta!) thru the system...and they get you coffee if someone's makin' a run...feels like HOME should!...Get nuffin but compliments all over da world about my hair...Love them...I usually don't chime in with online reviews, but THIS LIL place is THAT good! ...My boyfriend loves his cuts by Paul at PANYC, too! more

Never been to a salon so welcoming, pleasant and proffesional at the same time. I've been getting my hair done there for the past year and enjoyed it each time. JC is an unbelievable hair-master, I let him do whatever he wants with my hair and he never fails me. Another great bonus is that sweet dog, Peanut, who goes around the clients, entertaining them and making sure everyone is pleased! in other words - DO! Pros: Proffesional, Friendly, Exciting more

I recently did makeup for the Abby Z fashion show, for fashion week. Panyc happened to be the stylist that she used. The hair was so awesome and the staff was amazing. They were all really nice, quite talented and did funky, retro and modern styles. they were lots of fun. Pros: modern, friendly more

I've been getting my hair cut at Panyc since I moved to the city in 2002, and Paulie always does a fantastic job, whether it's a trim or a new 'do. The last time I was in, he listened patiently while I complained about how I was fed up with my life, then snipped 3+ years' worth of black dye out of my hair, gave me a damn cute haircut, and made me a redhead. This salon is an absolute gem. There is zero, repeat, zero pretentiousness, which is a rare find in New York. I have super curly hair and JC cuts it perfectly, but the salon is also very straight hair-friendly. Marylou is the resident color doyenne, Chris did a cut for a guy today that was shaggy-hipness and Paulie makes everyone feel at home. Is this place for real? Yes -- go there now! more

Panyc restored my confidence in salons 5/4/2005

After trying a million different salons in New York and never being satisfied- I finally found Panyc. Not only is the staff fun, hillarious and amazingly talented but for the first time in my life I have hair that people notice. complete strangers have complemented me on my hair along with all my friends. thank you Panyc. I went to check out Panyc after reading good reviews here on Citysearch and my hair turned out great. Paulie did a fabulous job on my long layers and I had a really fun time chatting it up with everyone in a casual atmosphere. Someone waiting for their cut even said ""can you cut my hair like hers?"" PANYC was recommended to me and I started going to have my hair highlighted and cut about 2 years ago. Paul and Mary Lou are miracle workers and you will have a difficult time finding more skilled stylists in NYC -especially at their prices. When I first moved to NYC I lucked out and found a great salon on my first try, PANYC!! The staff is knowledgable, creative, and friendly. I have long straight hair and never know what to do and yet whenever I leave there I leave with a fresh, stylish cut that makes me happy. I can not recommend Panyc enough. I reccently visited Panyc at it's new location, and was happy to find it was still the same great group of people working there, and the same laidback, fun vibe. Paul gave me an amazing haircut, and I can't wait to go back to get hilights from Marilou. The prices here are very reasonable, for very top quality services. Overall Panyc is an unbeatable find! Best Hair in NY 10/18/2004

I used to get my hair cut at Frederic Fekkai which became so pricey that eventually I had to switch to a less expensive salon. Over time I finally found PANYC. Mary Lou is the best colorist I've ever been to...and without the stuffy attitude of pricier colorists. Just take one look at her own hair...it's gorgeous! That says a lot. I also get my hair cut by JC. I usually don't even give him direction...I just let him go to town on my hair and it always looks amazing. I get so many compliments. Mary Lou and JC are both great to work with and very patient and knowledgable. The atmostphere at the salon is comfortable and warm. Also, since they moved to West 15th Street, the salon is much easier to get to for most people. I always look forward to my visits to PANYC. Pros: Skill, Warm Atmosphere, Value more

I've been a loyal customer of stylist JC for almost 8 years now (*waves to JC*). And I'm not exaggerating when I say that people literally stop me on the street to ask me where I get my hair cut -- sometimes the minute I step out of the salon! I've recommended Panyc to countless friends, all of whom have been thrilled with their cuts, and become regulars. JC, Paulie, and MaryLou (the color diva!) are truly a trio of experts.
