Love it. Go almost once a week. My favorites are shrimp with garlic sauce, House Wonton Soup, and of course, shrimp fried rice. \r \r I see where some of the reviewers are coming from in some respects. I've noticed different changes over the years in ingredient choice. But, the management is open to suggestions. 2 examples: recently they tried to change their hot chili oil to a chunky hot sauce. I didn't say anything the first time (besides just saying I didn't want it). By the next visit, I was going to let them know that I didn't like it, but they had already changed it back. Second example, I'm really particular about my shrimp with garlic sauce and I only like broccoli. I've had it this way for a long time but they started to charge for the broccoli. I voiced my concerns and now I don't have to pay.\r \r Definitely get the frequent visitor card when you come just in case you like it so much that you come back multiple times in a week and month. more

I agree with other reviewers saying the quality and taste of Panda Garden's food have changed for the worst since new management took over this past year. As former regulars, my boyfriend and I had many favorites, which have all been ruined now. The steamed vegetable dumplings look and taste completely different; the cashew chicken has a different sauce, which is too watery, and low grade chicken which is full of stringy rubbery -- what is that, tendon?; the sesame chicken does not taste as good; the sweet and sour chicken is all breading and no chicken. Even the sweet and sour sauce has a different, more watery consistency; the fried rice is now almost completely devoid of any ingredients besides rice and grease. Tonight I ordered take-out from there (forgetting it was not the same old P.G.!) which was entirely too greasy. All of it. I took a crab puff out of the box upside down and it literally poured grease down my arm and onto my pants forever staining them. Thank goodness it wasn't still hot! I want old Panda Garden back. You could always trust the food was going to be delicious and the prices reasonable. more

Panda is a great restaurant at a great price. The food is very good-- American style Chinese food, but they do thier dishes very well. The best part is the service, which is why we go back constantly. The service quality is the level of the most expensive restaurants in town, so you get a great restaurant experience at a really good price. You will never see the bottom of your iced tea glass! Moo shu is great here, so are the steamed dumpings. Also, very easy for groups! Pros: Service, Meal Specials Cons: No Liquor more

For good, reliable Chinese food inside the Loop (there's better Chinese in Southwest Houston), go here! Ask for their ""Frequent Diner"" card, which is available upon request for a free meal after a number of stamps. My favorite is the Hunan Shrimp & Scallops. The shrimp and scallops are large and plump, and the sauce is very good (not thick and overly sweet like some of the cheaper imitations). Panda Garden (on Weslayan) used to be our favorite chinese restaurant. Then they began changing their recipes, subsituting cheaper, less tasty vegetables and other ingredients in our favorite dishes. They've excluded water chestnuts from all their dishes, and one or our favorite dishes now is made with tons of squash instead of a tasty and colorfuly variety of veggies.
