Palmetto Veterinary Hospital

I am the pro-active type and take my dog's health seriously. I didn't feel like this office provided me with the most knowledgeable or cost efficient solutions. I have had more experienced Vets before and I chose to move on. more

I have 3 dogs and would take them only to Dr. Henke. He is compassionate, competent and I know that my babies are taken care of. They also offer excellent boarding facilities. The staff is friendly and professional. more

I just saw the post from 'Courtney W' \r Whew! Is she ever wrong! \r She MUST be talking about the guy who had this practice before Dr. Henke. He WAS a schister - and had his license pulled in SC and, I understand, 2 other states previous to that!) We had a BAD, BAD, BAD - AWFUL - experience with him, for sure! \r He sold his own herbal concoctions - which were nothing more than placebos; charged an arm and a leg; convinced me to put our dog down - and, as we were saying our 'goodbyes,' came in and told me 'Ah, come on! That's enough. I have other things to do," pushed the syrringe in - and that was that!\r I just wanted everyone to see how our experience with Palmetto compared. Whoever wrote this office is all about the buck, is sadly mistaken. I have 2 white boxers and marred a man with a fawn boxer. One boxer I had since she was a puppy, the other was a rescue. My previous vet spent 6 months and hundereds of dollars trying to find out how to treat what turned out to be a skin allergy. One of the vets made me feel like it was all MY FAULT. My rescue had heartworms and was going to cost over $800 for treatment. A friend recommended Palmetto Veterinary Hospital where she was treated for HALF that amount. All my dogs and cat go there. The staff and doctors work me in at any time and are GREAT with my animals. My dogs are always happy to see them and get plenty of hugs and kisses and give them right back. This hospital is definitley not all about the almighty dollar. more

We have been going to this vet for approx 2 years even though not convienant to our home. The practice is under new ownership - they did not notify customers of ownership change- I found out the hard way when trying to get my dogs Rx filled. The Rx was supposed to be honored until next yearly exam (6 months from now). The staff and vet Dr H refused to fax over a refill permission to 800-Pet-Meds. He even lied to the the woman who called to verify the Rx, stating no refills were available (I have copy of Rx that says 1 refill available). That came down to a technicality "he did not write the prescription..." well technically that is correct he did not write the prescription but another Dr. B that used to work there did. The vet (Dr H) screamed at me on the phone about how I can't tell him how to run his business, he would not do business with 800-Pet-meds. Basically staff implied that 800-Pet-Meds fills their medicines with something other than real medicine. I told him more

WE HAVE 2 DOGS, ONE IS A PUPPY, AND PALMETTO VET HOSPITAL IS GREAT WITH THEM. FROM VACCINATIONS, ILLNESS, RIGHT DOWN TO BOARDING THE PETS, WE HAVE DONE IT ALL AND THE DOCTOR AND STAFF ARE WONDERFUL. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ALL! more
