Fun Horse Tours 4/14/2006

Thecarriage tours are a must for visitors and residents alike. Palmetto is the most child friendly carriage tour we have found. They have a petting zoo that all three of my children love. They also accept all competitors coupons and offers so this can make them one of the lowest priced around. The fact that they have parking for their customers is another bonus. My children's school uses Palmetto when they do a carriage ride fieldtrip. I am very impressed with this company! more

We weren't sure how to react 10/3/2005

Let me start out by stating that the tour itself was amazing. We were actually tourists when we took this tour, and now, 6 months later, we live here. However, we were a little dissappointed with the tour guide. The tour consisted 95% of tourists obviously, however, the tour guide continually made fun of tourists and 'yankees' and people who speak differently. I was very put off by it, and I could tell a few others were too. It really didn't make me feel welcome as a future resident. However, we enjoyed the sights, got some great video footage and pictures, and met some very nice people. If you can find a coupon, do it! more

The Best Carriage company in Charleston 8/19/2005

If you come to downtown Charleston and are looking for a quick way to see the city without walking, you can choose several carriage companies. We like Palmetto the best because they have a free parking lot (City & street parking here is not free) and you can park all day in their lot, even after your ride. The tours take about an hour and take you all over the city. They use mules instead of horses, which is much kinder in the heat here. The drivers have all been there years and give a great tour. There are several carriage companies but this is the one we bring our guests to over and over. They even have a petting area with small animals for the kids while you wait on the ride & a gift shop. more
