Editorial review from Citysearch 10/11/2013

Hi, after reading the comments here I wanted to share my own experiences at Page Parkes. I am the father of a model represented by Page Parkes. My daughter was signed in May of 2013. She started attending classes in January and went to Model Camp in March. During Model camp she auditioned for the agency and in May we were surprised and thrilled with the news she had been accepted by the agency. Afterwards she attended agent review where she actually received a call back from an agency in London. You do not know how excited we were. A few weeks later we got the news that the agency in London was not going to sign her this year. Yes we paid a lot to get to this point! But consider this. This is not a show up and just smile and look pretty job. This is a career and with any career you have to pay for classes to be trained and mentored. I consider the cost to be her college tuition. My daughter spends many hours a week training at home and follows up with classes and private lessons at Page. She sacrifices and eats healthier than most people and goes to the gym daily. She has almost completed her first year with Page Parkes, been in a few runway shows and continues to meet with many photographers to build her portfolio. During this year she has made several new friends at Page that she has seen move on to NYC, California and other countries all because they started at Page Parkes. Again, if your complaint is the cost, then maybe your not ready to sacrifice and help start your child's career. Would you want a doctor to do surgery on you without training or experience? Accepting some financial responsibility also shows how committed you are to your child's success. This is not a baby sitting service where you drop your child off. This is a career in the making. This has been the most exciting time in our lives working with the Page Parkes agency and we look forward to the future with them. more

As a Mom to four very active children, I have to choose activities that fit into our schedule as well as our budget. When the opportunity arose for one of my daughters to consider modeling, I admit I was skeptical. However, after working with this company for over a year, I can honestly say that not only am I impressed, but I am thankful that my daughter is working with such a wonderful, supportive group of people. Pros: null Cons: null more

Page Parkes is often Misunderstood 5/19/2009

People are often confused by Page Parkes. The Page Parkes Center of Modeling & Acting is a strictly a school that offers training for models and actors. The agency that represents models and actors (talent) is Page.713. An agent helps them find jobs. Although the Center of Modeling & Acting and Page.713 are located in the same building, they are managed separately, and are very different types of businesses. more

Just good business. 11/20/2008

I am writing in regards to Page Parkes herself. I have read many reviews on many sites. What I have found is that it seems that people only write reviews when they are angry with someone or something. My daughter was somewhat interested in the acting/modeling business. We were interviewed and then given the okay that she could attend the acting camp/workshop. We were really not expecting that would be the outcome of the interview. At any rate, we accepted and then realized that she really is not passionate enough about the craft to commit to something like that. Her talent is singing, which is what she needs to focus on inevitibly. We really just wanted to get her foot in the door....somehow. Once we talked about it together and realized we made a mistake by accepting, I contacted the appropriate people, Page called me personally. I let her know my concerns and she agreed. I was shocked that Page herself called me, i figured honestly that no one would call me at all, maybe that I would get a response from email letting me know there was nothing they could do.................HOWEVER, they took great care of us and offered help any way they could with future endevours. I am very pleased with the outcome. THANKS PAGE!! more

Page Parkes Modelind & Acting 7/30/2008

Page Parkes is a scam. They got a picture of my daughter that we took in the mall and application.Later we got a call to meet a represenative at Page Parkes at a hotel.I was clueless to the fashion world so i ended up paying about $1,000 for a modeling camp my teen was to attend. So it was finally time for my daughter to go to her model camp in Houston. We ended being scammed and the hotel said there weren't any reservations for the camp.Afterwards we could never get in touch with Page Parkes. They are very good at selling thereselves so my advice is DON'T PAY THEM ANYTHING FORGET ABOUT IT!!!A real legit model agency would never ask you to pay for a model camp.If they really want you they would have you doing photo shoots with no cost!I read more articles about model scams and real agencies DONT ask you to meet weekends, they only operate mon-fri. between 8:00-5:00.A scam like this wont be recognized by authorities because they have no way of finding them either...So that is why i would like to educate others on this type of crime. more

A waste... 2/11/2007

At the age of 11 I interviewed for this "prestigious" modeling school. I was recommended to them through the country station, KILT. I waited for a long time in a crowded waiting room with wannabe celebrities. Most of these girls were coached by their mothers and clearly weren't interested in modeling. When I got to the agent's office she immediately became fixated on my teeth. I was soon to get braces and she asked why and how come my teeth were so crooked, and when my mom was buying me braces. Next she told me that I was not of any interest to them until my teeth were completely "perfect". We called her back at the number when I was a high school sophomore *when the braces were off* and she had either been fired or quit. I don't believe they are professional. They, (like all other phony modeling agencies) wanted us to pay over $1k for their modeling school. I learned that you never pay any modeling school. If you're good enough you get in. Don't go to this place. Pros: They have a good scam for getting you in I must admit Cons: Very unprofessional more
