WAY To crowded. Beer way to expensive, management and bouncers smug. too bad the bartenders have to get stuck working there, they are the only thing positive about this overrated place Pros: bartenders Cons: everything else more

Amazing service! 2/20/2007

I had my husband's 30th birthday in the back room on a Saturday night We had preordered food which our guests raved about. The staff was very helpful and even when it got very busy our tiny waitress (she was adorable) got through the crowd and provided excellent service. The music was awesome. We couldn't have asked for a better night. Pros: amazing service and music Cons: crowded more

Murray Hill, need I say more? 2/20/2007

Hey partygirl, do you know why you could get a table without bottle service or leaving a deposit on a friday night? Because you're in freakin Murray Hill! The day that a bar in that neighborhood makes you a) wait behind a red rope or b) makes you buy a bottle to get in is the day I move out of new york altogether. I couldn't think of a worse bar, in a worse neighborhood, attracting worse people. There should be a sign on the door that says, "No Lacoste shirt, no aviator shades, no popped collars, no entry." I'm shocked the Murray Hill girls that go there can stand to leave their Burberry clothed yorkies long enough to sit down and order some crudite and an appletini. It's like I'm talking to a child. What's the point. Cons: It's in Murray Hill more

Good after-work spot 2/19/2007

Checked out PS 450 with some co-workers and was impressed with the serivce and crowd. Worth checking out if your in the area. Pros: service, crowd more

Great hang; Just not on a Fri/Sat Night 11/3/2006

I work upstairs from PS 450, so am a regular. It's a shame that not more is said in the CS review about the food - the food is great; sliders are the best in the city, salads are fantastic, even the hummus has kick. The bartenders are also fantastic - very friendly and casual. It does get way too crowded on Th/Fr evenings, but that's par for the course with the type of place it is, I guess. Also, if you live in Murray Hill, go for the weekend brunch. Fantastic. Pros: Sliders, sliders, sliders Cons: Crowds more

Best Drinks, Service, and atmosphere!! 10/2/2006

This is absolutly the place to go if you want to have a good time with out paying big bucks. We were in last Friday night and wow. We were able to get a table wtih out having to order bottle service or give a deposit. We did however end up going to the bar more for our drinks. The back bartenders are awesome. The girl back there I can't remember her name but is definetly worth checking out. She is beautiful and could have one of the sweetest personalities ever not to mention fast. Although the guys are usually flocked around her its worth waiting for her service. Ask her for a tasty shot and she will whip out something new and exciting for you. Definetly going back!! more

Nice place but the bouncers all need to be fired... 9/22/2006

Picked this spot to have my birthday party with 25 people in the back. Things going great until I tried to STOP and argument from escalating with one of my guests & someone from another party. Then this twirp staff member with glasses tries to act like a bigshot who didn't even know what was going on tells the bouncers I started trouble and they kick me out...the birthday boy gets kicked out! They didn't even care that they were losing such a huge party, professionals none the less and not like we looked like trouble makers either. Manager didn't even want to hear it...we had to close out a bunch of tabs that were open including mine...at least i didn't sign my check...they aren't getting a penny from me. On top of that one of the bouncers started yelling at me because I refused to sign my bill. Now this is your security hard at work for you. Ya they really made me feel safe! This place is way overrated...music was ok but that staff (excluding waitresses they worked hard i'll admit) has got to go. Especially the manager...grow some nuts & listen to both sides of a story. Totally didn't want to hear me out. I suggest go to Red Sky around the corner...they have a rooftop & better music. Pros: great waitresses Cons: management & security more

Typical Murray Hill spot 8/25/2006

My date took me here on a Friday night... it was ridiculously packed, and the music, though good, was extremely loud. good looking girls and guys, but def your typical Murray Hill-ers... The scene is much like that of Tonic. Bartenders are nice, but not really generous pourers (the bartenders at Tonic are better). I would go back there with a big group of people maybe, but would not go back here for a date. Pros: Good music, pretty people Cons: Too crowded, too loud, obnoxious girls more

Best Service and Great Time 7/30/2006

I was at PS 450 this past weekend and was so impressed with how attentive and sweet everyone was! From the bouncers all the way to the manager (who personally came over and introduced himself) everyone made sure my group was more than taken care of. PS 450 made sure the whole night ran smoothly. We called ahead, reserved some space and it was there waiting for us - what a pleasant surprise! I will definitely be coming back here - great drinks, great music...great vibe! Pros: No cover, no hassle at door, great service Cons: Sorta crowded, but still fun! more

Club thinks it's the new Bungalow 8 (oh wait, Bungalow 8 isn't even cool anymore) 7/25/2006

This "club" is absolutely nothing special. The bouncers are inexperienced and obviously couldn't handle the mini-line that had developed. One of them thought my friend's ID was fake (he's 36!). He was a huge a-hole. He had to call for another bouncer who, after almost 25 minutes of waiting, said it was absolutely fine. Let me tell you though, the first bouncer has a mouth on him. The inside of the place is typical, but P.S. 450 isn't going to make it if they keep up this sort of service when they weren't even crowded on a Saturday night. One word: OVERRATED. Make it two words: overrated AND crappy. Pros: Music was ok. Cons: Bouncers COMPLETE a-holes. more

Birthday fun 6/3/2006

Last nite my friend celebrate her 23rd Birthday at PS 450. We had to wait in a 25 min line that was kept orderly and fair by a great bouncer. After we made it in we saw what all the fuss was about. The bar was jumping. The drinks were great and the atmosphere was amazing! My friend celebrated her birthday in style. Definitly worth the wait!1 Pros: atmosphere , door policy Cons: crowded more

Great for Brunch! 4/2/2006

Had Brunch with a group of 15! Staff was incredibly accommodating. All meals arrived within 5 minutes of each other. Food was excellent and fun (e.g., sausage and egg sliders, etc.). Price was even better --- brunch entrée and bloody mary or mimosa for $10! Try this place (and sit in the open front lounge area if it's a nice day)! more

Perfect for Private Parties! 2/13/2006

Had my birthday here on a Friday night with 25-30 guests. Very easy to set up, and Jodie is very helpful in the process. No minimum, no bottles required. As planned, tables were reserved, and our waitress kept our tables even though we came in later than scheduled. Guests had no problems coming in, and drinks are reasonably priced. Great all-around. more

A whole lotta cuties! 2/1/2006

This place got HOT GUYS!!! We went to 450 on friday and was greeted by a hot looking guy in leather pants smoking a cigar.Once we got inside the guys were fine. This is the place ladies if you are looking for hotties. Very cool vibe we met the owner who was totally cool (also a major hottie). THIS PLACE ROCKS!!!! Pros: great staff, cute guys more

This place is great!!! 1/30/2006

From the front door to the end of the night i had a great time! When we got there around 12. There was a line, the doorman was soooo cool. Even though we were waiting for about 7min he made us feel like we were waiting for 30 sec. The bar was filled with hot girls and great drinks. The DJ was spinning really good music. Me and my boys had a great time. Pros: bouncers, drinks, music more

Rough Bouncers that ruin a great atmosphere 12/15/2005

Great spot, except the bouncers man handle all the patrons for no reason. They shove people aside for no reason. I've been here quite a few times and met many great people here. The bartenders and waitress are great, but the security is way too "thug-ish" for the type of clientele that PS 450 entertains. This bouncer situation has been an issue for me and all my friends everytime we've been there, and they push and shove the women too like they're men. I've decided that if the security continues to act in such an unproffessional way, I will no longer go to PS 450. They really ruin a great place to hang out. Pros: atmosphere, women, service Cons: Bouncers more

Great Saturday Party Spot 12/1/2005

Had a great party at PS450 on recent Saturday with about 50 latetwentysomethings. We reserved six tables about a week in advance. Had most of a beaded private room and took over the back bar. Five hours of great drinks, great service, and great music. Really great music. Aside from stumbling home afterwards, had a great time. No problem getting people in the door. I'd recommend the sliders as an ideal pre-drinking bite. Pros: fun drinks, private room, great music more

Great Birthday Party 10/29/2005

Held a small private party on a Wed. Very easy to work with PS 450 to set up the room, food, etc. Service was really attentive and courteous. The evening manager stopped by a few times to ask if things were okay. A couple nice private spaces in the back with a bar and great atmosphere. No minimum or charge to hold the room. Thanks PS 450! more

Awesome new brunch for locals... 10/13/2005

I love this place. I live around the corner and have been a steady regular since they opened. The staff is friendly and the food is great. Recently, I had a bunch of relatives in town and I took them all there for brunch. Little did I know, but they actually have a full brunch menu now. We tried just about every item on it. Everyone was ecstatic. I personally loved the breakfast slider sampler, while all raved about the "monkey bread." The chorizo hash was killer and so was the french toast. I will definitely be going back for more. See you there...on Sundays, of course. Pros: Large space, Great Food, easy vibe Cons: packed on weekends more

The Ultimate Manhattan Lounge 10/12/2005

I have been going to PS 450 since it opened in Feb. and I can say it is the best lounge in manhattan. No pretention at tthe door, excellent atmosphere, quite when it should be and crazy wild packed on the weekends. The atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the AMAZING mixed drinks make this the best lounge in manhattan. Check it out, but be warned, they'll make you feel like home and you may never leave. Pros: Atmosphere, Staff, Food, Cocktails Cons: A bit pricy more

Editorial
  • The Scene
A cross between an upscale hotel bar and a super-sized modern lounge, this out-of-the-way drinking den is a study in orange reflected against dark woods. The only light comes from cylindrical sconces, small lamps and sleek panels, setting the space aglow in amber hues. The room's long bar comfortably accommodates five-deep weekend crowds without disturbing insta-couples cuddling at adjacent raised tables. A platform DJ booth is stationed above more curved banquettes in the back. Fashionable table servers sync steps with a clubby soundtrack of '70s disco grooves and obscure Clash songs.

    The Draw
In a neighborhood long thirsting for nightlife options, locals gather naturally. Outsiders have been slower to migrate, but word-of-mouth and the club's egalitarian door philosophy gives reason for making the trip. The bar's sexy interior and party-time attitude attracts a first-real-job crowd with burgeoning hipster sensibilities--even down to the non-metrosexual men drinking fruity house cocktails.
