So this is the original Owl Bar, known for their green chile cheese-burgers, owning the original wood bar out of the first Hilton Hotel (Conrad Hilton lived in San Antonio, NM), and their $1 bills all over the walls. This place is just cool, dark, and dang good. The green chile is HOT, the burgers are nice and charred on the edges, falling out of the buns and stacked with lots of chile and toppings! Get a side of hot onion rings and the cook will bring them out to you as soon as they come out of the oil! Nice selection of beers and they also do some traditional New Mexican food, chile soup, and they have dessert! Nice place to stop if you are checking out the Bosque Wild Life Refuge or just passing through town. P.S... while it is called a bar, they have tables in the back if you have some kiddos with you.
