Editorial review from Citysearch 2/20/2013

Our experience with exterior painting by Osborne Painting of Raleigh, NC\r Our two-story home was built in 1973 and so, has been modified, repaired, added to and painted several times over the past 39 years. This time, 2012, painting was needed plus a number of repairs were necessary, particularly replacing some rotted wood siding, a door, and other wood trim. Hidden wood damage seemed highly likely. Since some of the damage seemed to have resulted from gutter problems, that also needed some attention. So I researched the Raleigh area painters to find the best qualified painting company capable of meeting all of our needs at an acceptable price. At my request, I met with Mr. Tony Osborne to discuss my needs, his company's capabilities and seek a written proposal. (For the record, that was the first time I ever met Mr. Osborne.) His advice and proposal made it easy for me to select Osborne Painting Company from among several that gave proposals. They started the work at a time that was convenient for me and stayed on the job every day it wasn't raining until the job was finished. The quality of their work was astonishing compared to my past experiences which generally were not poor. They caulked everything that possibly could be caulked on a house! No painter has ever done that. They found and replaced much rotted wood, some of which was not obvious from my ground view. In every case, they showed the problem to me and discused their proposed remedy with me. They renoved all removable parts (such as storm window frames, and down spouts) to paint under them. I was surprised that in some cases, there had never been any paint there. They called in their expert gutter sub contractor to solve a bad water overflow problem. It turned out to be an excellent and low cost fix. Last but not least, the Osborne painters were highly skilled in brushing two coats of paint on the house. The best testimony came from my wife (in charge of inside painting) who said she would love to have them do our inside painting. Their coverage was good and their lines were absolutely straight with no smears and they didn't need masking tape. All of the Osborne people answered all questions and were pleasant.- so much so that after the job was finished, we felt like we had made new personal friends.\r \r Nothing has been offered or received for this positive review. We are just so happy to have such good work done in renovating and painting our home.\r \r Richard Cook more

Doesn't even show up for the estimate! 10/22/2008

This company canceled the first estimate appointment 30 minutes before they were supposed to show up, and they were a total no show for the second appointment. I can understand if my job isn't big enough, or they have too much work to engage a new customer, but they wasted my time waiting around for them and that really irritates me. So, if you want my two cents, don't bother calling them. Pros: don't know - they don't show up Cons: can't even get an estimate more
