Osaka Japanese Steak House

I have been visiting Osaka for at least 12 years now and I have always, Always found the service and most especially the Sushi better than the rest. Hands Down! Jackie the host and Sam and Mr Jon are always happy to see me and make my visit a memorable experience, sure I'm a long time local but I see the way they treat and serve other customers and it's always with a smile and gererous portions, I have never left hungary. At the bar Suzy is the bomb, fantastic drinks, always smiling and she's fun to look at too! I've never eaten the Habachi but from the laughter I hear from the bar the Habachi is a hit as well. I just can't say enough good things about Osaka. Friends that have visited with me through the years are now steady customers as well. Osaka is a neat restaurant experience. A cook cooks your meal right in front of you. You are given a ton of food at Osaka and it is very tasty. My only gripe with Osaka is that the prices are extremely high. This place is great to go one as a special occasion but not a place to go to every week because the prices are too high. Definitely take the kids. They will love the show. more

This is one of those places where they cook the food right in front of you and it is very entertaining and fun. It is a great birthday spot, but the main reason I go there is the food is awesome. I love the soup and salad that comes with the meal, I wish they bottled the honey mustard salad dressing. The portions are huge. I always have leftovers. It is a little pricey, around $20-25 a person but worth every penny. more

Osaka has great food, but it's the chef that makes the meal (no pun intended). So how good of a time you have really depends on the chef you get. I really like the Sukiyaki beef. If you're on a budget and with a friend, they offer a share-a-meal, so you can share the meat (which is plenty for 2) and get your own portion of rice, soup, etc. It's still pretty expensive, but delicious. more

Osaka's is most definitely the best japanese style restaurant in all of tallahassee. Set up with all light woods and japonais contemporary , the sushi bar is small and packed even on weekday evenings when it's handled by one samurai and a couple of assistants. The huge variety of sushi, sashimi, wraps, rolls and specials handily outshine the slowish, sometimes AWOL service. Don't miss the chef's enormous, and enormously edible, Osaka Special ($9.95), an assemblage of Snow Crab Salad and avocado rolled inside out with eel, salmon, salmon roe and tempura flakes. Or the Yellow Submarine ($9.50) that wraps shrimp tempura, yellowtail, salmon, cream cheese, avocado and more in yellow soybean sheets. Beer, wine and booze, including lots of parasol drinks. One of the best parts about coming to Osaka's is that it is a hibachi bar which means.... FUN!! The chef makes you laugh as he does his skills cooking your food in front of you. Very nice! more
