Best

I'll give you the service isnt great, but this is as close to authentic NY Pizza that you will get in CO. When I go to get a couple slices, that last thing I care about service. ...

Worst

I have to agree with Ralph (the owner) having an attitude and being rude. Haven't been to that place since like 5 years for that reason...

Editorial review from Citysearch 12/31/2012

This is excellent pizza and I don't find the service to be rude or unfriendly. I will go back again and again. more

I'll give you the service isnt great, 3/6/2012

I'll give you the service isnt great, but this is as close to authentic NY Pizza that you will get in CO. When I go to get a couple slices, that last thing I care about service. The fact that they walk your food to the table is impressive enough. Great Pizza, who cares about the rest more

Horrible Service-Terrible Foood 9/25/2011

I have frequented this place several times trying to grasp why people go back. The place is dirty, the kitchen is a disaster, and the food is inconsistent. Ralph the owner is rude, just plan rude. I can not understand why people put up with him. He is a loud mouth that insults everyone!! I have seen him send burnt pizza out to customers, he eats behind the counter while making food, and yells at his staff (most of which is family)! He is miserable their and is driving the place into the ground. I can not believe how he treats his wife. AVOID THIS PLACE@ ALL COSTS. more

Best pizza I ever had!!!!! Will be back next week!!! more

Excellent pizza 1/22/2011

A very good pizza. word of Italian. Good like a real Italian pizza. Delicious cannoli and excellent espresso. I met Carmela and Raphael (the owners) when I came to Broomfield from Italy in September. I will spend a year in Broomfield to the Nativity of Our Lord and I'm glad to have found them. Good friends, good pizza, people of great faith. May God bless them. GOOD FOOD, VERY CASUAL 11/29/2010

For a casual, easy going time out with family and friends Original NY Style Pizza is it. Very busy Friday and Saturday nights, so patience is a virtue. Typical NY attitude, which is loads of fun when you play it up. Good pizza, Great Spaghetti & Meatballs with a glass of Chianti....you're set. more

RUDE - HOW DO THEY STAY IN BUSINESS! 10/28/2010

I have eaten here many several times. The pizza is good but the service is horrible and the guy making the pizza ""Ralph"" is the rudest person I have ever layed eyes on! It amazes me this place stays in business with him around. His wife is sweet as can be but her husband, Ralph treats everyone including her like they are trash. The food tastes good when it is done right but many times my pizza has been over cooked. I have complained twice and both times I was told ""It's Fine"". The last time I was there two families walked out because it took so long to get the food. When they inquired about the wait time they were told they could leave if they were not happy! No Kidding! DO NOT SUPPORT RALPH. To his family, I feel for you! more

boring at best 8/29/2010

If you want an attitude from the guy behind the counter and you want to be abused and belittled, this is the place to go. Be on your toes and walk on eggshells because the insults will take you off guard if you're not ready for them. Oh, and the pizza is bland. The only way you'll think this is NY Pizza is if you've never had pizza in NY. Go to Original Pizza if you think you deserve to be treated like dirt. Go somewhere else if you want at least average pizza and service. more

awful pizza 1/20/2010

Far from anything resembling original New York style pizza. They don't even use fresh garlic, it tasted like old garlic from a jar and sprinkled on top of the pizza. Yuk. Cons: Awful pizza, rude reputation, disappointed. more

We Love Original Pizza 12/12/2009

I'm a Jersey Girl, transplanted to Colorado in 1975. Have been hunting for great pizza for years and found it at Original NY Pizza. Thin crust, sauce with just enough kick and yummy melted cheese on top. We like our crust a little crispy so we always request a little extra time. Have come to know Ralph and Carmella well over the years. Ralph is NY gruff on the outside, marshmallow sweet on the inside with a mischeivous sense of humor-just look at his eyes when he asks you an obvious question. Carmella works hard always but take a minute to ask her about her grandkids and she lights up. Food is great, true NY family owned business. We wish them all the best and hope we can enjoy thier pizza for many years ahead. Pros: Best Pizza in Denver Metro Cons: Could lose the statue fountain out front more

Long wait for burnt pizza 8/4/2009

It took well over an hour to get a pizza. They first said priority was being given to carry out orders; then said pizza order was marked as completed. When we finally got pizza it was burnt. Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: Long wait and pizza burnt more

Skip It 8/3/2009

Probably one of the most unpleasant lunch experiences I've had. The staff constantly belittled every customer as they ordered, and treated them as a burden when delivering their food. They hassled many guests about coupons, overcharged us for our food, and charged for drink refills. Our calzones were over-baked to the point that I just ate the inside and threw out the hard, burned crust. Maybe New York is known for attitude, but it seems they brought only the bad part of it to Colorado. Pros: Don't Know Cons: Rude Staff, Bad Food more

From someone who travels extensively to NY-- This pizza is excellently NY 1/1/2009

90% of my job is travel ALL over the country. I always make it a point to eat whatever the area I am in is famous for. When in Texas, TexMex, When in Oklahoma, Steak, When in Alabama BBQ, When in NY, always get pizza at least once. This pizza is hands down 100% NY pizza. It is excellent, to the point it is addictive. For 2008/2009 it was voted peoples choice #1 Pizza in Denver. Pros: Excellent food consistently. Cons: NY attitude seems to throw off the midwestern style folk in Colorado more

Best Pizza in the Area...Not Just Broomfield. 6/30/2008

As someone who lived in New Jersey a half hour from Manhattan for 19 years, I can say with confidence this is the real deal. The bad attitude is part of the whole experience. If you don't like it, go to Pizza Hut. Pros: Great! more

Give me a break 6/3/2008

Well, the pie was pretty decent. I would give patronage to the place more if it weren't for the owner. I am echoing many people's comments, but he's just not exactly the person you want to be the dashing image of your business. From my experience, I had ordered a pizza and wanted dessert as well. When I asked for a piece of tiramisu, he said they were out of it. No problem, I thought. He then suggested a cannoli as a substitute and as I was deciding, he gave me the most rediculous ""You know what those are, right?"" I'm sorry, but this guy is a moron to assume I don't know what a cannoli is. I spent fours years of college right near Boston's North End so I'm no newby to italian food or gruff owners. The way he treats patrons is just too rediculous for Colorado so I would recommend doing what I am...not going there. What a pompous idiot. Pros: Cannoli was actually tasty Cons: Owner and the place looks rundown more

Average Pizza served with BAD Attitude 2/7/2008

""Forget about it"".... I mean really forget about patronizing this place. The owner cops an attitude like someone forgot to tell him he was in Colorado. Between the owner's negative attitude towards coupons and credit card purchases less than $15 dollars save yourself the aggravation and time and go elsewhere. more

Poor service, gruff servers 9/19/2005

Food took way to long to heat up. Both the owner and his wife think they are still in New York. I tried to look them in the eye and smile and say thank you and they basically look away and grunt. Decent pizza, not great, boring decor, cold ambiance. You can tell they like themselves better than anyone else likes them. Pros: Location, Parking Cons: Service, Ambiance, Unfriendly more

colorfull reception 6/24/2005

A family operation where is possible to taste a genuine and flavorfull food. The pizza is outstanding and also the pastas sauces and sandwiches. Pros: Atmosfere, Price, Parking more

Arthur Avenue Comes to the Boonies 6/2/2005

Simply the best pizza I have had since I left New York. Polly-O ricotta in the shells and lasagna makes both A-1. Thanks, Ralph & Carmella, for a taste of Arthur Avenue in the boonies. Pros: Great food, Family run, New York Atmosphere more
