The food was delivered promptly. The milkshake was cold and not spilled and the sandwich and fries were hot. The quality of the food is always high, but in the past I had an issue with delivery. This time, they hot the mark though. Yummy meal, great desserts. I recommend. more

I took my boyfriend here so he could taste the Tiramisu that I had been raving about for so long and halfway through eating it, he pointed to the mirror I was sitting behind and there was a ROACH crawling on it! We immediately told the hostess about it and she lazily sent a cleaning guy to remove it but by then we were so grossed out and also upset that the fact that she and a waiter were laughing about the situation up front that we asked for the check. My boyfriend asked to speak with the owner on the way out and not only did he not say sorry about the situation, he childishly went up to the mirror and made a scene, throwing his hands up and saying ""where is the roach?"".Needless to say, I will never go there again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. I never write reviews on restaurants, even if the service was terrible. However in this case I must. I experienced horrible service at Omonia Cafe. It was a couple of customers inside, it looked like a nice place. It was a terrible place. The waiters were very LAZY. I ordered a pasta dish which had red pepper all over it. I had to ask for water twice. The waiters would pass my table over and over again and not stop to check on my table. Some waiters were sitting down and chatting. It was so bad I had to take my plate of half eaten food to the bar and ask for a container so I could wrap my food and go. One waiter ask me what was wrong? I said who is serving my table, where is the waiter that took my order I haven't seen her in the last 20 minutes. The waiter stated they were in a shift change. THIS IS NO EXCUSE. Other customers were being serviced. I asked to speak to the manager and the manager came to the bar and had nothing to say. I explained my situation and he just stood there, while some of the waiters were still sitting down chatting. This place is a DISGRACE. I asked him to accommodate me and take a percentage of my bill since I could not finish my food without anyone giving me water refills and how I was disappointed with the service. Food is mediocre at best. Fried foods are frozen and re-heated. I had a grilled chicken ceasar salad that was literally just lettuce and ceasar dressing with warmed up chicken on top. Delivery was quick though. more

They make really good coffee. I also love their ice moca in summer time. I?ve gone there for over 6 years now, but the big boss who seats us has always been friendly (I have to say he?s probably the only friendly Greek business owner in the area?) Whenever we have friends from out of town, we take em there, and always get great response. Now Kolonaki across the street is gone, and they are very much the only Greek cafe on Broadway, but they are still going strong, I really hope they will remain open and provide good coffee and food (did I mention their food is also great? This place is good. There are only about three people who make the best coffee and they are there late evenings. All the pastry is fresh and taste great. The premesis is clean, open, inviting and friendly. Pros: good selection Cons: can get loud on late, busy nights more

Ommonia is great for sitting outside, having dessert and drinking coffee. When the sun goes down the little candles are lit and the trees and flowers are perfect. You must taste the tiramisu and the caramel cake. Pros: Fast service, great dessert more

Are there still people in Astoria that haven't tried this place? If you are looking for amazing desserts and pastries, this is the place to go. I've never tried their 'regular' menu, i.e. sandwiches, entrees, etc, but their cakes and pies are top notch. Be warned, it can get pretty crowded on weekends and also quite noisy, especially if the piano player is in. But if you don't feel like dealing with all that, just walk up to their takeout counter and enjoy your cheesecake in the privacy of your own home. more
