We use to frequent this establishment 5-10 years ago when I was attending the local university. It was considered one of the favorite local restaurants \r

Recently we took a trip up the coast and stopped to have dinner at the Old Port. I was happy to see that the decor did not change and the see-through glass tables that provided viewing into the ocean still remained. However I was thoroughly disappointed with our overall experience. Although they still have a descent wine selection, their food has certainly gone down hill. I ordered the ?grilled to perfection? shrimp scallops which were cold and rubbery and had did not taste fresh. My wife had the filet mignon which was extremely chewy and flavorless (except for the greasy bacon wrapped around it). The presentation was pitiful as it looked like the food was just dumped on the plate. For $40 a plate, one would expect more. We couldn?t bear the thought of desert.\r

It seems these days the Old Porte really focuses on getting in as many tourists as possible, and less on the quality and presentation of their food. If you are planning on going to the Old Port, I encourage you to go for lunch, appetizers, or a glass a wine. Do not spend the money for dinner as there are other restaurants in the area that have equal if not better ambience, and much better food and service.\r
Pros: Nice Ambience, Great Location
Cons: Lousy Food, Mediocre Service, Bad Value
