Ridiculous 6/15/2003

A profoundly uninspiring dining experience. The service was fine if a little self-absorbed. Tables too close together prevented the kind of ambience I like. But the most unsatisfying aspect of 9 Park was THE FOOD. The green salad was soggy. The beet salad w/goat cheese tasted like it was dressed with balsamic vinegar & canola oil. The parsnip soup was bland. The halibut was OK if unimaginative. The lamb WAS quite good, though--but not enough to offset this disappointing meal. We ate the next night at Radius and had an AMAZING meal from start to finish. Radius, Clio, and Rialto both put this place to shame. Cons: mediocre food more

Great Service 5/10/2003

The hostess at this restaurant goes above and beyond what you would ever expect. The prune gnocchi was excellent, the crispy duck amazing, and the desserts were superlative. I would, however, stay away from the halibut--it was a bit dry. Try the dessert wines too, you won't regret it. Pros: Fantastic Hostess, Helpful Waitstaff, Wine List more

What, no Chicken Wings? 1/29/2003

Venison, Fois Gras were awesome. These bad reviews are probably from Sports fans looking for the TV hanging over the bar. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Been here 4 times and never had a bad meal. The tasting menu, albeit as much as my first car, is amazing. Save a few bucks by ordering one with wine and one without. The clientele were of all ages. You don't leave full like Chili's, Sox fans, but you're very satisfied. The portions are perfect. more

Nine reasons to skip No. 9 Park 1/11/2003

1. 45 minutes between appetizer and entree 2. 25 minutes for dessert to be served 3. Room temperature too chilly 4. Waiter not attentive (see #1 and #2) 5. Incredibly expensive ($35-$40 for very small entrees) 6. Very limited choices (maybe 6 or 7 entrees to select from?) 7. Full of suburbanites looking for chic city dining experience 8. Bus boy station in middle of dining room 9. Boston is full of better restaurants than No. 9 Park!!!! more

My favorite Fare: Ordinaire 12/12/2002

Interesting to go and see what it's all about. Equally interesting is that. with the exception of location, and the tasty bread, there's little else to say or recommend. Stark decord borders on a clinical setting. Staff is pleasant and helpful, but they cannot overcome uinspired food, including totally tasteless cheesecake. Only restautant amateurs will find 9 Park scintillating, and write glowing reviews here. Pros: over-hyped, disappointing more

The Best 11/11/2002

I don't have a lot of $$$ to spend, but lucky break, I get a gift certificate to No. 9 Park! Everything was AMAZING! Food, service, and the view. It's a very small space, but they seem to have made it work. The wait staff were very helpful in picking the wine (I have no clue how to pick one), and in the food selections. If I could afford it, I will return. I know I will be at least returning to the bar for a drink someday... -- more

most enjoyable... 7/19/2002

I have been to No.9 Park several times and have eaten in the Cafe, at the Bar and in the Dining room and have had some of the most memorable meals in Boston there...We had a seven course tasting for 8 people on my Mother's Birthday that left evryone overly satisfied- but make sure that you save room for dessert because the new pastry chef is amazing! Pros: Incredible food, Valet, Cafe Menu more

Blech. 7/14/2002

Worst meal I've ever had. Undercooked cod wrapped in pancetta with a green glaze so dull I fet like I got a bat to the head. Babs must have been having a bad night, but with those prices and profile, mistakes like that should never be made. If you enjoy the company of stuffy, old Tip O'Neil types...Go ahead. Just don't order any fish. more
