Love the salon, great atomsphere, didn't get my hair done, just wen with a friend to the Roswell location when it was open.... Expensive...Yes.....Can I afford it? Yes..... Some people just choose not spend tons of money to get their hair done...doesn't mean they cannot afford it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but expensive does not always equate to quality,. In any event, the salon was just grand. Loved it...when it was open. more

If you say TOO Expensive Simply Go Elsewhere! 8/16/2009

I have been to NSEYA on and off since 1999 and I L.O.V.E. it. I like the management staff, the attention to detail, the fact they do not do HOT MESS hair and many more reasons ,because I am a professional. Its funny how people think just because they pay a certain amount of money they should become preferential. The owner is nice and she is quiet natured. She treats everyone with respect. A lot of women on here have an unrealistic perception of professionalism when it comes to hair salons. Most have a tendency to think being loud and eating inside of hair salons, possibly selling CDs and gossiping is normal. It is not. You cant be angry because someone is treating you with respect and in turn providing with you with a professional experience. The rates are not expensive. If you cannot afford to pay for the service then dont go to the salon. It is simple. Pros: Excellent Products, Professional, Structured Cons: No website more

Don't believe the hype!! 8/13/2009

I love the fact that this place happens to be African American owned. That's great. However, what I don't like about this establisment is that its not stable. Not just with the closing and opening of different locations, but also with the pricing. The prices are already steep given the economy, but to charge different prices here and there should not be exceptable. Lastly, the staff puts on these "HEIRS" as if GUCCI and LOUIS are their only best friends. Ladies, remember this if you don't remember anything else, this is something that I learned from my mother when I was still a kid. "It's not the clothes on your back the establishes your worth, it's how much money you have in the bank to retain your worth. Nothing disturbs me more than to see Black Women who look down on other black women, because they THINK they have so much and when you really pierce through all of the labels and foo-foo la, their empty and have nothing. I'm writing this on behalf of someone that I recommed a few months ago and her experience was just horrible. By the way, she is a Lawyer who just moved to ATL and does have money in the bank without supporting the LABELS. I'm saying this to say...don't judge how you treat a customer because what that person has on or doesn't have on. I've been to the salon quite a few times. I know how some of the stylist are...including the owner. Lastly, I don't know if its to late or not, but I think in order to regain your business you need to start with customer service and then with prices. Clients love great service and reasonable prices. I will never come back, but I do think that revisiting what you charge may stimulate your business. Sometimes is not all about greed. Greed has gotten this country and some establishments were they are now. I know this is a mouthful, but I've been meaning to put this out there a few months ago. I'm not trying to bash anyone or the salon, I just observe things first and speak the truth about it if necessary. I love all my beautiful black sisters, but it really bothers me to see our people be so damaging to one another , just because we think we have something that can be gone or taken away in a minute. Nseya best wishes to you on your comeback. Pros: African American owned Cons: Expensive, Locations Unstable, Lots of Foo-Foo La more

Have always loved N'seya but........ 1/25/2009

How many African American owned and operated salons in Atlanta are one of the top 10? Not many! I have always loved N'Seya talented stylist and their concept. 'm commenting as a professional in the business (management side of it). You have to treat your clients like you need them. Because, let's face it, you do! From the first moment they walk in the door till they leave. Acting like it's a privilege for them to be sitting in your chair (not really YOUR chair) is not right. If it wasn't for the client walking in the salon, you would not be able to wear all the designer gear that most of N'Seya's stylist wear. Most of the comments online and conversation I've had about N'seya are about their terrible customer service and the stuck up attitudes of their employees. Why is this? Ok, your books are full Thurs and fri NIGHT and all day Saturday. This in your mind means you are in high demand and have the right to for a stuck up attitude?! Uh, no! Hate to break it to you! When you can become booked Tues-Sat and the waitlist to get an appointment with you is a week or 2 weeks if you need a color process; then and only then will you have the right to proclaim you are in high demand. I work for a small quint (similar to N'Seya's new location) salon in Buckhead. We have 6 stylist (2 being the owners) 4 out of the 6 are booked Tues-Sat. Even with that said, they come in on time, stay on schedule and are cordial to their clients. I've learned no matter how fabulous your work is you will NOT retain clients with your nasty, "I'm better than you / It's a privilege for you to be sitting in my chair" attitude and unprofessionalism. I hope N'Seya's new location come's with new attitudes and new exspectations. But remeber M & T, your staff only learns from example. N'Seya is a house hold name, please bring it back to the fabulous brand we know it to be. Pros: talented stylist and products Cons: attitudes and customer service more

Not Stable 7/24/2008

lola227 Provided by Partner
Is it me or has anyone raised an eyebrow on how much they move around the city. They should convert their salon into a mobile salon. I agree, it has great decorum. However, you can't cover up urbanization. The management is horrible and incompetent. The fact that they move every week is too much for me. I have yet to find anyone in the salon that can do a satisfactory job on my hair. As a professional, time is of essence. I do not have all day to sit around a salon with a bunch of individuals who attended cosmotology school and wait for my hair to come do. I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone. Pros: Nice decor Cons: They MOVE TOO MUCH and Unprofessional more

Over Rated sew-in Higher than average car notes 6/30/2008

The shop is very beautiful but very OVER RATED I receive a sew-in it was OK but not worth 370.00 .OK YES that's how much I was charged. I knew the price going in but it I thought they did something special like take you to a private room at least. The braiding of my hair was average and they don't even use a net cap to keep the hair flat. Well what I trying to say is Shakeekee Jenkins from down the road could have did a better job out of her Baby Daddy's little sister's room for 30 bucks and two 40's. Lower your prices Pros: good parking beautful shop Cons: cost to much better off geting a JUST4 ME kit more

Great Customer Service 6/23/2008

I have been going to Nsyea since I moved to Atlanta 3 years ago. At first I was a little intimidated because the salon was huge and some of the stylist were not friendly. However, after my stylist's assistant came to greet me I started to feel comfortable. After going every two weeks everyone started to make me feel like a star by showering me with hugs and smiles. Moreover, the assistant was extremely profession and warm. Jaime is my hair stylist and I love him. He is so caring and knowledgeable. He told me that I didn't need to use a relaxer anymore and that was the best thing I could have ever done. My hair is much fuller and filled with body. I recommend this hair salon everywhere I go. They are trained in products and understand what works for each client. Pros: Ambience is nice more

Average Service 6/9/2008

I have gone to Salon Nseya once in the past and loved the beautiful color that was put in my hair. The Stylist was very careful and informative as to what she was doing while styling my hair. The only thing was the atmosphere of the place wasn't too inviting. It seemed as though the stylists that did not style your hair were unwilling to speak to you, they did not want to assist with anything and they just seemed like they did not care about customers. I went to the Roswell road location which is now closed but the service itself was great (the end product) but the customer service wasn't. more

Will is THE BEST! 4/24/2008

While this is predominantly an African-American salon, I am Caucasian and wouldn't go anywhere else because Will is the best around. I have gone to many different salons over my ten years in Atlanta and haven't found another stylist that comes close to having the expertise and precision that Will does. Try him...you won't be disappointed! Pros: Skill, Expertise, Precision, Friendly Cons: Expensive more

ROBBING CUSTOMERS BLIND WITH HIGH PRICES( STYLIST ARE NOT QUALIFIED) 3/9/2008

carolej99 Provided by Partner
WENT TO NSEYA AGAIN OVER THE WEEKEND FOR THE 3RD TIME. I AM NEW TO ATLANTA BUT WAS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. MY FIRST VISIT WAS NOT GOOD, THE WAIT WAS TOO LONG AND MY STYLIST WAS LATE COMING BACK FROM LUNCH TO GET ME STARTED. I WAS TAKEN BACK BY AN ASSISTANT THEN I WHEN I MET MY STYLIST HE REALLY DIDNT INTRODUCE HIS SELF TO ME. HE WAS TALKING TO THE OTHER STYLIST MORE THAN ME. I LIKED MY HAIR BUT IT WAS TOO MUCH GOING ON WITH HIS CONVERSATIONS. IF I AM SPENDING MONEY LIKE THAT I EXPECT FOR MY STYLIST AT LEAST GIVE ME SOME CONVO. MY NEXT VISIT I DIDNT BOOK WITH HIM, I WAS GIVEN ANOTHER STYLIST, WHEN I MET HER AFTER BEING SHAMPOOED, SHE WAS NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL, SHE LOOKED MEAN AND KINDA JUST DID WHAT SHE WANTED TO DO TO MY HAIR ALL SHE TALKED ABOUT WAS HERSELF. SHE LEFT ME SITTING IN HER CHAIR FOR ABOUT 15 MINS BEFORE SHE CAME BACK. AND I WAS UPSET ABOUT THAT. I DIDNT LIKE MY HAIR, NOT FOR WHAT SHE CHARGED. THIS PAST WKEND ...DID IT FOR ME. I WAITED 2 HRS BEFORE ANYONE CAME AND GOT ME SO I LEFT. I THINK THE PRICES ARE TOO HIGH AND THEY DONT HAVE THE STYLIST THEY PUMP UP TO HAVE. THEY ARE NOT TRAINED TECHS THEY ARE JUST TAKING PEOPLE MONEY . I AM NOT HAPPY. CP99 Pros: THE OUTSIDE OF THE PLACE Cons: THE STYLIST DONT TALK TO YOU/ THEY TALK TO OTHER STYLIST OR ABOUT THEIR SELF TOO MUCH! more

I would not recommend this salon, I know you want support black businesses but this is not one of them. Pros: Nice decore Cons: bad service more
