I called the phone number listed to make reservations for a tour in Jan 2003. It appears they only offer tours in the Spring, but the website doesn't list that information.
In ShortEven the governor has to live somewhere. For North Carolina's head honcho that place happens to be a rambling home that's Victorian on the outside and regal on the inside. Complete with 16-foot ceilings and an imposing staircase, the massive house commands respect. And unless you happen to be close friends with the governor, visitors may only see the first floor in a free guided tour.
