Best Vet Experience in Austin 1/21/2008

I went to NAAH a couple of weeks ago when my dog came down with a very bad ear infection. I called all of the other vets I have seen since I've been in the Austin area and everyone was booked and wouldn't even recommend a vet for me to see. I found this vet on citysearch. They saw me within 2 hours of my phone call. I showed up early and they took me right away. The front desk staff, the tech and the vet were all absolutely amazing. They were all happy and genuinely friendly and concerned for the health of my dog. My dog gets fiesty at the vet and normally has to be muzzled if anything that needs to be done may cause pain. Everyone was totally cool and understanding about it. Most of all, I have never actually had a vet spend the amount of time my vet spent with me. I had several other questions about my dog that had nothing to do with his ear infection and she answered each thoroughly and thoughtfully. Every time I've been somewhere else, the vets are in such a hurry I can barely give them a good history of my dog. Not this vet. She listened to everything I had to say and was fully of answers and recommendations. My dog's conditon is also a recurring thing, every other vet has just been concerned with fixing the inividual infection and not finding the underlying cause. Thanks to NAAH, I am starting a regimen that should identify what is causing the problems with my pet. What an amazing experience, I will absolutely use this vet as long as I remain in Austin. Pros: discount for first visit. All of the staff. Cons: I didn't know about them earlier. more

Not Good 1/13/2008

I boarded my dog here once and I when I went to pick him up he had a scab on his nose from being in the cage too long. \r I tried to talk to them about it, but they were so busy they could not get to me.\r They are also OVERPRICED, always doing an exam when its not necessary, and they have talked down to me several times while I have been in there , and I always I treat my dog awesome. \r I will never go back to this place. more

Love Them 6/4/2007

It is hard to find a veterinary clinic where love and compassion as well as my kitty's health are #1 priority!!! I love every one at North Austin. I had no wait time~ The receptionist had me in a room in less than an min. and the technician was instantly there making me feel like I was part of their little family.. Dr. Silvers was Awesome! I feel like she explained things to me in terms I understood and educated me on the dangers of my kitty's diabetes. We have been back several times and I am forever grateful to the staff at North Austin... 5 stars Pros: Good medicine, Little to no waiting time, Very friendly staff, Cons: exiting parking lot... more

Great doggie care 3/12/2007

I have a grand little sheltie and stumbled upon North Austin Medical Center by an internet query.\r My dog had been misdiagnosed and we were desperate for some quality health care. We have seen two different vets at this facility and both were great. We had all our questions answered and our dog was given excellent care.\r The building may be a little old, as Pam D commented, but the care is awesome. Their staff has always made us and our dog feel welcome; we have received lab results back in a very timely manner and the assistants are very well trained. more

Happy 8/10/2006

I've recently become a client of the hospital and have to disagree with Pamela D. Recently they've updated the interior and it's quite clean. The staff has been excellent, and the doctors are friendly, and accessible. After some questioning, the hospital has been corporately owned for almost a decade, but the previous owner (Dr. Smith) never told anyone. Anyways, the care I received there was top notch and I've already referred some friends there. Very Satisfied. PROS: Location CONS: more

Best cat doctor in town 7/5/2006

You are right. Dr. Smith is the best. But he is not at North Austin Animal Hospital. He has opened a feline only practice in Round Rock where he continues to give the best care around. Its the Central Texas Cat Hospital. Phone 388 1299. About a 20 minute drive from central austin- very easy to get to. Hospital is clean, quiet and geared totally to cats. Staff is great. Pros: He is no longer with NAAH but has his own feline practice in Round Rock Cons: he cant be cloned more

Much appreciated 6/30/2006

I have brought my pets to the doctors at North Austin for quite some time, now, and I must say that I am quite pleased. The staff is always pleasant and happy to help me in any way that they can, the doctors are always available to answer any questions that I have, and they are always quick to follow up and ask how Muffin and Dixie are doing. I do not know what else I could ask for in vet hospital, so I am pleased to say I take my animals to North Austin Animal Hospital. more

very sad 5/16/2006

it's too bad that this place is now owned by a corporation, because it used to be a very cool place. the great doctors that worked there have all left, unfortunately. now the place is dirty, the people have poor attitudes and it really shows. the outside of the building desperately needs a face lift and the inside needs a remodel - i know that these are only small things, but it really says a great deal about the people that work there and own it. \r the prices are completely unreasonable!!, especially for the service that you and your pets receive. the doctors don't seem very established either, and really don't know what's going on. the rest of the staff is just plain rude. PROS: great location CONS: WAY OVER PRICED!!!! and where is all that money going??? more

Dr. Smith really cares 1/1/2003

I found all the doctors at the North Austin Animal Hospital to be caring and helpful. I was especially impressed with Dr. Smith who went out of his way to help my cats through sickness. Pros: kind, patient, caring more
