Of course, I tried the restaurant as a result of the Iranian poster controversy. I have lived in Katy for over a year now and consider myself a bbq connoisseur and never tried the place because it was a hole in the wall. I had forgotten that is one of the requirements for a great bbq joint and was pleasantly surprised by the way the ribs fell off the bone when I started in on them. Always a big fan of Kansas City style bbq, I was happily rewarded with great rbis. The sauce was a tomato based disappointment, but it was not terrible. Just not great. BTW more

The most disgusting BBQ I have ever tried in my life. The waiters despise unfamiliar faces making quite an uncomfortable environment. The totally country backwoods horse hoof eating ""regulars"" are few and far between I would assume due to the terrible BBQ that only such a person would eat. I was traveling through Houston and upon passing mason rd we decided to try the place. It is hands down the worst BBQ in the country. more

This is real BBQ place where the meat has a real smoke flavor, its not a commercial Q place like so many people like. Its a very small place thats hidden on the very busy Mason Rd. They have some of the best sausage in Houston. The sausage is course for good texture. The brisket and ribs have a real smoke flavor. The brisket is a little too lean sometimes and that can make it a little dry sometimes. Especially if you get to go, which you might want to because they only have a couple of tables inside. The sides here are great. This place has the best potato salad!! Its white potato salad not mustard and its very chuncky. The pinto beans are moist and very tasty. I always want more sides when I am done, which is rare for me. When you go make sure you have cash, they don't take any plastic. Pros: Sausage and sides are superb Cons: only take cash more

This place is as good as it smells. The excellent things: brisket, sliced beef sandwich, sausage, baked potato, beans, and cole slaw. The chopped beef is good too just a little too mushy for my taste. Overall this is a great place to get barbecue TO GO. The restaurant is a small hole in the wall but it taste amazing!! more

Your mouth begins to water as you step in the door. This barbeque is unbelievable. Only cons would be size (2 tables max?) and the potato salad is chunky not creamy how I prefer. GREAT STUFF! Pros: TASTE, SAUCE, Very friendly people Cons: , No cheetos, Chunky potato salad more
