Newport makes music feel the best possible way it can. Reconstructed from an old theater hall, Newport provides number one entertainment for any audience, and there are multiple levels from which to view the bands playing. There is also a bar inside with well-priced drinks and a side door for smoking, while still being able to hear the music. Prices are good as well as everything you'll experience at the Newport. more

A Little Different 11/18/2005

I've seen a few shows here over the years. One was BB King. It's a very small venue and every seat is a good seat. Sometimes there are some freaky people there. The age group can vary from 21 years to 60 years. more

Entertainment Venue campus style 9/28/2005

My husband recently won tickets to a show at this venue. They offered free parking at the OSU parking garage across the street and it was within walking distance to the venue. We waited in line for a few minutes, after being admitted we were asked if we would be purchasing alcoholic beverages and we responded yes. We were then given bracelets after they viewed our identification. I found it annoying that when we ordered drinks (every single time) from the bar (way overpriced in my opinion) we were carded. Why wear the bracelets in the first place? This place was not what I had expected! more

definitely an experience 9/22/2005

Going to the Newport is definitely an experience. It's dark and kind of gross, but it is fun. I saw a couple of concerts there and it always seems kind of druggie to me. Lots of people in all black with died hair. It's right on OSU's campus so it is pretty much all students there. They do get a lot of good bands though and it's close to so much that you can walk. more

Newport 8/17/2005

Newport music Hall has awesome rock concerts from all sorts of bands. I've been there many times and every time is just amazing. The place is small enough to feel cozy and yet large enough to fit a wide number of people. They have new bands from all over the country come to newport. I saw Shinedown there and it was not just a rock show but an experience. more
