New Orleans Saints 1/22/2007

The Saints owner Tom Benson should be exhuberent over the quality football team that played this year. From the coach to the lowest paid player sitting on the bench, they are all "SAINTS" here in Louisiana. After all of the devestation that was hurled on New Orleans and the rest of Louisiana by the Hurricanes, it was wonderful to be able to be proud of our Home Team this season. The Saints is an organization that worked hard to overcome many adversities last year and this year. So many of the players lost so much from the storm and I for one, respect the way they played football in the face of all their personal grief. So Tom, since you are the owner of the Saints, lets see some really great outpouring of gratitude to the guys that play in the Gold and Black, Fleur de LIs emblemed uniforms. Give em a pat on the back. Great job, Saints!!!!!! more

Saints - Win or Lose the NFL is a very entertaing product in New Orleans! 8/18/2005

The Superdome alone is an amazing attraction. To watch a NFL Game in the Superdome is simply awesome. The Saints do a nice job off offering complementing entertainment at the games. The NFL has such a great product that they don’t need to make it a circus like the NBA. The fans are quite the characters. Even if you don’t like sports, Saints games are the hip place to be seen. It always helps if they are winning! more

  • Overview
Fittingly, the franchise was born on Nov 1, 1966 (All Saints Day). Less than a year later, Saints receiver John Gilliam took the season-opening kickoff 94 yards for an electrifying touchdown before a packed house at Tulane Stadium. The home team ultimately lost that fateful game, though, and a legacy of unmet expectation has followed the Black and Gold ever since.

    Facts
The Saints did not earn a winning season until 1987, under Jim Mora, the coach many believed could lift the losing hex. The team regressed, however, and the Mora era gave way to the unsuccessful and short-lived regime of Mike Ditka. Ever-devoted fans hoped Jim Haslett, who was named 2000's NFL coach of the year and brought the team to its first-ever second-round playoff game, could lead the Saints to the ultimate victory. Now it's head coach Sean Payton's turn to lead the team for its 2006 season.
