NOT CHILD FRIENDLY. \r I took the family here in hopes that it might be better then the last few times. WRONG...\r The food tasted like it was over cooked in the Microwave, but that's not why I'm writing this review. \r My son is shy of 2 years old and he LOVES rice, so that's what he had for most of his dinner. Kids being kids, especially a young toddler, he got a little messy. No problem, what kid isn't messy.\r The manager or owner... The lady not wearing what all the employees were wearing walked passed our table, shook her head and said, ""O' my God."" She then brought over an employee and pointed out how messy the floor was. This happened throughout our whole dinner. \r \r Talk about embarrassing. \r \r This whole restaurant needs a customer service school. Very rude. I don't recommend this gutter trash establishment to anyone, especially if you have kids. more

Well if you love the taste of microwave food....... 10/12/2011

THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! But if not, and you have never been there, take the $12 per person that you were going to spend, put it back in your pocket, go in your backyard and lick your dog's ass and feel comforted that you have enjoyed the same experience you would have at King's for none of the cost.....THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY GUT WRENCHINGLY HORRIBLE. I wish I were exaggerating, but unfortunately I am not. I have given this place 5 trips hoping it would be different, and to at least have a good positive experience once, but it has not happened. One time they suckered me in with all you can eat lobster (which I didn't have high expectations for anyway) but I also did not expect for 2 hours there to just be empty shells in the container. Good one for them, they tricked me well. Walking in it smells like a fish market at 80 degrees all day long. I refuse to go there again and wish someone had kicked my ass for even thinking of returning there the other day. Walking out the door has been the best part of my 5 dinner experiences everytime. Enter at your own risk. more

Not big on buffets. But... 4/29/2010

Ok. So as far as buffets go, I am against them. However the New Kings Buffet in Vancouver Washington is on of those, ""on the fence"" buffets.\r If you go on the right day, the food is very good. On a scale from 1 to 5, the food on a good day is a solid 4. The problem is finding that good day of the week to go. I have eaten at this restaurant 10 times in the last 2 years. Honestly, half the time the food is so bad that I just leave. The rest of the time, it is quite palatable. \r The main attraction at this restaurant is the sushi bar. Using the 1 to 5 scale to rate the sushi bar, I give it a solid 3. but this is a constant 3. If your visit is on a day when the rest of the food at this restaurant tastes like microwaved leftovers, you can at least go all sushi. Make sure the sushi chef sees you tipping, or else he may not reload he various sushi platters with tasty treats frequently enough.\r There is one thing I really dislike about this restaurant. And that one thing is the beverages. Order water. it is the only beverage your server will bring to your table that does not taste like it has been sitting in a pitcher for 7 hours! Order sodas at your own risk! They are consistently flat, and the melted ice in the pitcher leaves a watered down taste. There are some bottled beers that you can order also. Pros: All you can eat sushi bar! Cons: Some days the food is horrible! more

Cheap eats - and not in a good way 7/5/2009

This place is ran so cheaply I wonder why people ever come back. First off, when they refil your drink they bring a half full cup of what you ordered and dump it into your glass OR they take a pitcher from a table and use that to fill it up. I never in the hour I was there saw them refill those pitchers with fresh soda. They have two sets of napkins, the one that they use to set the tables and the cheap ones for people who need extras. I saw another customer come up to grab some napkins and they took the good ones out of his hand and replaced them with the cheaper ones. And over half of their plate dispensers were empty. I think the management needs to seriously figure out a way to figure out the small things because their food is editable at best. It is a buffet after all. Maybe I am picky but if that is the way they run the front I am scared to see how they run the back. Pros: Sushi, fried foods Cons: Too many to right here more

All-around great buffet 5/13/2008

I have eaten at the New King?s Buffet many times over the last two years. The quality and the selection of the food is incredible considering the price for dinner is $9.99. The actual sushi on the buffet is pretty basic, nothing too fancy. If you are going there just for sushi, you may be a little disappointed. If you like seafood, and are very hungry, I highly recommend this place. I?ve tried just about everything on the buffet, and there is really a lot of great food. Will definitely be back! more

Going Downhill 11/16/2007

Used to be one good restaurant. price still low but food quality has deteriorated. They don't have as much seafood anymore. Crablegs for lunch has dissapeared as well asthe fried (pepper-salted?) shrimp. Sushi conter is just basics. None of the good stuff. Recommendation: Fire the chef. Bring the old menu back. Pros: Low Price Cons: Bad Food. more

Excellent service, excellent value, food is unpredictable 6/29/2006

When the food is good, it is great. When it's not, stick to the sushi. I don't know if they have different chefs working on rotating scheds, but it is strange how the food can be so good one day and the next time you go, be so average. I have been over 25 times, and lately it seems like even odds that the hot chinese dishes will average. The 30 foot salad bar is always fresh. The Kim-chee is unusually fresh, and the sushi is made right before your eyes. of course buffet is not for everyone, but you should check this out if you are looking to sample 40 different dishes. And 10 bucks is a fair price for dinner. 8 bucks for lunch. Pros: value, parking, variety Cons: inconsistent dishes more

There is No Better than this 5/17/2006

This is the best buffet in Vancouver that I ever been to because the cost is cheap and the food is real (TASTEFUL) unlike other buffet restaurants which uses immitation ingredients. The service was great because they always checked up on me. There were alot of foods to choose from and also alot of SUSHI!!! But the downside is that you have to use the same spoon and fork for the entire meal Pros: Food, Price, Service Cons: Silverware more

Hungry hungry hippo 1/16/2004

One of the largest Chinese buffets we have found in the Portland area. The food is of good quality, however this is one of the few buffets that actually serves real seafood on the buffet, shrimp, crab legs, oysters, crayfish, sushi, etc are to be had in an endless supply. For under $10 you are guaranteed to roll home fat and happy. A family style restaurant with a very casual atmosphere. Buffet carries limited US foods for children or fussy adults. Pros: Selection, Value Cons: Noisey more
