Best

NEBO is by far my favorite restaurant of all time. It is the perfect mix of sophistication and casual dining for an after work drink, a date night or grabbing a bite to eat before...

Worst

I don't understand the high rating for this restaurant. We ate at NEBO recently and no one in our party would ever go back. The food was OK, but very overpriced. The manager/ow...

Valentine delight 2/24/2009

Checked this place out on Valentine's night. Pretty good. They had a price fix menu for the night and the regular menu to choose from. All in the price for two of us was $110 with drinks and was impressed with what was delivered. We ate at a table and then had drinks in the bar area. People were nice and met another couple from the neighborhood. more

PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY!! 2/21/2009

I ate at Nebo's a couple of weeks ago, and the nasty taste of their food is still in my mouth. We asked not sit near the door so we wouldn't feel the cold breeze everytime it opened. Fortunatly for us the place was dead on a friday night, so we got to sit away from the door. The host/owner, who I later found out her name is Carla was probably one of the rudest persons I have ever met. She started off by telling us we needed to be seated near the window, after a 2 min conversation of telling her we didn't want to we finally ended up sitting near the bar and kitchen, where we got to witness everything. Once the restaurant started getting busy it soon turned into a chaotic mess. My friends and I could see perfectly into the kitchen where both the owners were. It looked like they had no idea what they were doing, and on top of that they treated all of their employees so awful. They were yelling at the kitchen staff for not preparing the food fast enough. Servers were taking food to tables that were not theirs, wrong orders being made, total and complete mess. Our food came out 45 minutes after ordering it. I really felt bad for the servers because they were getting the worst of it. At once point I witnessed Carla pulling aside a waiter while he was at a table and started yelling at him in front of everyone. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! The food sucked, it was too pricey, and I will probably never go back there. And on top of everything while we are trying to enjoy our dinners the owner decides to come and talk to us about her and her brother and how much money they have, LIKE I CARE ! By the time she was done bragging about her money our food was cold. We were also by the screen were the servers put our orders in, and on multiple occasions I saw Carla going on the computer to see how much money she was making. WHAT A JOKE! The only good thing about this place was the service.DON'T EAT HERE! Pros: Service Cons: overpriced food/owners are full of themselves/food not good more

The Truth 2/19/2009

The sausage and ""gelato"" are not home made.\r The Servers dont know what the food tastes like.(? was told they have no discount, ouch!)\r The Host/Owner pulled our server away while she was taking our order to lecture her on how to sell more food to us, all in ears range.\r Your tricked into buying bread or bottled water.\r Id say this place floats on these celtics gift cards because theres never anyone there.\r Yes the pizza was good but WAYYYY over priced along with everything else.\r (3 fried riceballs for $10?)\r Staff seems drain but they were the best part of this experience.\r skip this Pros: Pizza Cons: Too Expensive more

A matter of opinion 2/10/2009

I was surprised at any negative reviews Nebo has recieved. I live in the North End and I eat at Nebo at least once a week. I have yet to be dissapointed with the food or the service. I have traveled all over the country and have spent 4 out of 7 days dining out. This restaurant uses the highest quality of ingredients especially the olive oil! Nebo is not your average pizzeria. I always tend to question when one spends so much time spreading negativity in regards to another person's hard work. I recommend Nebo. Pros: Good service, quality food, pleasant attitudes Cons: closed on Sundays more

Finally made it back 2/9/2009

I have on several occasions been invited to dine at nebo with friends and family and enjoyed it on all occasions. It, like anywhere else has it's hiccups, but it is a stellar place to eat and entertain. Bar is also a great place to grab drinks with your friends after dinner. Pros: very well done in all areas Cons: parking was a bit sparce but available more

Good pizza 2/9/2009

Happened to find this place when we got turned around in the N. end. Didn't have a reservation and showed up on their doorstep during the evening rush, well kind of a rush. Place was busy but not full. Found a couple of seats at the bar and had drinks and dinner. Fancy little place. Lotta dark wood and shiny bottles and good music. Pizza was great. Good stuff. Pros: No reservation required, clean and tasty food Cons: Little hard to find more

GO BRUINS!!!!!!!!!!! 2/8/2009

STOPPED IN NEBO AFTER THE BRUINS GAME AND HAD A GREAT MEAL. NOT TO PRETENTIOUS BUT THE PLACE WAS REALLY NICE. WE WERE WEARING OUR JERSEYS AND HATS AND NOONE SEEMED TO CARE AT ALL. THEY DON'T OPEN UNTIL 5PM SO WE WEREN'T ABLE TO GO BEFORE THE GAME BUT IT WAS A GREAT END TO THE GAME ! HAD PASTA AND COLD DRAFTS AND THE PRICING WAS ALRIGHT. GOIN BACK AFTER THE NEXT GAME IF THEY'LL HAVE US. more

Gluten Free nebolicious 2/8/2009

I saw the owners of nebo on TV Diner last week talking about their Gluten Free options. Eating out gluten free can be quite challenging. Nebo made eating out a breeze. There are not many choices of Gluten Free Italian food in restaurants , never mind great Italian Food. I used this as an opportunity to explore old favorites like Pappadelle Bolognese, and Sausage Pizza, Both were so good ,that my friends who have no dietary restrictions ,said this was food even they would love to eat. I can't wait to go back and try the Shrimp Scampi with Polenta .Beautiful atmosphere, great service and lots of help with gluten free choices. more

Good recommendation by the concierge, thanks dude! 2/7/2009

Visiting from Kentucky we were forced to ask the concierge at the hotel (Longwharf Marriott) for a suggestion to grab some food after 11pm. He sent us to this place with instructions to try the pizza. Different for us here from where we live was each pizza is a personal size. Cool in the fact that we could all get what we wanted. Place is nice and people pretty nice. All in all a good recommendation. Boston is great place and we love to visit here. Least now we know where we can eat late night. (after boozin' our way through the city!) Pros: open late, single size pizzas more

Worth the few extra steps 2/6/2009

Unbelievable is the word my girls and I would have to use to describe the meal and evening we all had at nebo. 15 girls for our friends bachelorette bon voyage. We called up the place and spoke with the manager the day before we hoped to have this little excursion. He was accomodating in all aspects of areas of food and wine. Food was on time and plenty of it. We were given a semi private area in the back and loved the music they played. Don't know if everyone in the place liked the noise we made but they were kind enough to smile and let us enjoy. Seriously, two thumbs up to this place and it's patient and professional staff. P.S.- The bathrooms were spotless! I love that! :-) Pros: Large tables, food, staff, fun! more

Great North End hot spot - never leaves us disappointed! 2/6/2009

On many occasions my room-mates and I have had cause to make it through the doors of NEBO and dine. The ambiance is one of stylish, comfort and ease with great staff and delicious food. The other night 3 friends and I attended NEBO for dinner before heading to the Celts vs Lakers game at the Garden. Place was jammed to the hilt. What should I have expected? Owners were there, as usual- one in the kitchen and one at the hostess stand. Not sure which one gets it worse. Floor sister, Carla I think, noticed us and said she would try to help us out. Five minutes passed before we noticed a dark haired man sitting in the front window area with a young woman. He begins to raise his voice about ""this is not the table I wanted, I want a different table"". We couldn't stop staring at this exhibition of childishness from a grown man. I confess, we felt as if we were in the middle of a comedy skit. This man was humiliatiliating himself and his pregnant lady friend. Both sisters approached the table in an effort to appease and bring an end to this offensive display of childishness. After slinging several choice swear words at the owners the man GRABBED his girl, his coat and exited the restaurant post-haste! Not paying the check I must point out. (This action alone reduces it to one of the lowest forms of classlessness) His loss our gain I guess. Table was cleaned and reset in the blink of an eye with our rear ends planted firmly on those seats! 3 specialty martinis, 1 Stella, meatballs, cheese plate, two pasta dishes, two pizzas and after dinner cocktails of 3 sambuca snifters with beans and we were ready to do battle with the EVIL LAKERS! You are all aware the Celts lost the game by one darned point. What should be stated is that we chaulked up the night as a win. Good food, great drinks, fast service and a free floor show of ""how not to act in public"" was awesome!!!! Thanks NEBO- You guys rock once again! See you soon, The Faithful Foursome**** Pros: Great owners, friendly staff, delicious food, good prices and quality- Cons: Parking, packed before events (reservations are a must have) more

best italian in the city!! 2/5/2009

my wife and i have been repeat patrons of nebo since they opened. we love this place! from the wine, food and service, it doesn't get any better! we keep going back because we feel so welcomed like we would be at home. the bartenders always remember our names and what we like to drink and the owners always make it a point to come over and say hello and chat for a minute. i fly to italy quite often for business, so i've been to many true italian pizzerias and the pizza at nebo is just as good if not better. if you're looking for great food, great service in a comfortable yet beautiful setting, nebo is your place, i highly recomend it! Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

Horrific shame of a place- DO NOT GO 2/3/2009

Just plain awful. I usually do not write reviews in fact, I had to create an account to do this one. I had dinner at this ""restaurant"" on Martin Luther King night after the Celtics game. It was dead- we were one of two tables. We were seated near the door so on that cold, snowy and icy night everytime the door opened, we got blasted with cold air. A waiter didn't come over to take our order for a half hour. We didn't get our drinks for 20 minutes. Our order once it came out 40 minutes later, was incorrect. Though the waiter apologized, it was now too late to get what we wanted. After 2 hours, we couldn't wait to leave. The ""manager"" who had a large gold chain on who is pictured on the restaurants website, was rude, abrupt and not customer savy at all. He gave us misinformation about a gift card we had received (which is what had brought us to the restaurant). He insinuated that the card had not come from the restaurant- after telling us he would not accept it and raising his voice, another person from mgmt. came over to apologize and let us all know that indeed this was a gift card of theirs and they would accept it. The first manager never came over to apologize for treating us poorly. We had three appetizers- one of them was the fresh mozz/tom/basil salad -it was limp and didn't taste fresh. Out of 3 entrees, one pepperoni pizza was edible, the other pizza incorrect and a shrimp pasta dish had too much garlic in it. The bartender and manager contributed to an unwelcoming feeling to the place. They are trying for a Newbury Street feel yet they are just wannabees. The location is out of the way and there is no reason to hoof over to it. Lousy excuse for a ""restaurant."" DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. It is a shame they are open. Cons: Parking, location, staff, food more

Rudely Rushed... 10/29/2008

I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but the sour taste is still in my mouth- and I just have to get it out by sharing. \r This is my first time here and I am greeted at the door by a raunchy ""hostess"" who immediately announces the need to get us out of there within a limited time because it was going to get filled up soon. I had to take a second to register...it just didn't bode well with me, but I proceeded to my table anyway.\r Throughout dinner I couldn't help but to feel like every waiter/waitress was WAITING on us...before we could drop our utensils, the plates were swiftly removed off of our tables. I felt like saying ""okay, I get the point...we need to leave soon!"" \r Soon after we are inconveniently interrupted and asked to give up the spare chair at our table, which meant we had to remove the coats and purses, because they ""need it for another table""- meanwhile we couldn't help but notice that about half of the restaurant had empty chairs- perhaps the one at ours was the special spare chair. To further bring home their message, when we request the dessert menu we are told it is unavailable when there is an event at the Garden nearby because the kitchen gets backed up. \r I won't press the matter of them wrongfully accusing (embarrassing) us by saying that our gift card had insufficient funds- it turns out they ""swiped the wrong card by accident."" Ultimately the service was extremely distasteful- and so was the food, for that matter. We spent over one hundred dollars in that place and were treated as ""less-than's."" I felt like their attitudes towards us was rude, disrespectful, intrusive and I never felt so blatantly rushed as I did tonight. It was worse to later find out that the raunchy hostess who greeted us at the door with the ""get out of here fast"" message was actually an owner! If the dinner had not been a gift, I would have surely had more to say to the managers. I felt very extremely offended. They will never see us there again! Pros: The decor, ambiance, and location is nice Cons: Bad service, tasteless food, and lack of customer service etiquette more

Did I Order All Of That?? ...Staff is FULL of Themselves. 8/15/2008

I would not be surprised if I found ""Extra Napkin - $12.50"" on my check. No surprise because I found an extra bottle of expensive water, a more expensive glass of wine than I wanted, and a BREAD charge on my check the other night!!! Thank goodness Celine was great, because my meal, the service, and the atmosphere were awful. Pizza was MEGA-expensive, dry, and bland. The pasta was pretty fresh, but the sauce was tasteless. Although I probably would have welcomed it, I at least want to be asked if I want the extra bottle of pricey water...don't just bring it. When I ask for a cheaper glass of wine (cheaper compared to their other wines), why must you insist on pushing another more expensive one and then charging an extra $1 for the one I got? Just avoid at all costs! Or will avoidance cost me $7.95 also? Pros: Location was close to Celine. Cons: $$$$ Parking, Stuffy, Bland more

Home of the $100 pizza 8/14/2008

I live right up the street and decided to try it out one day. The service at the bar is horrible - they are not friendly at all and are too busy talking between themselves and unloading the dishwasher to service their customers. The martini's are $16, they ask you if you want bread and then fail to tell you they are going to charge you for the bread basket - who does that? The pizza was NOT good - way overcooked and they put almost nothing on it. All in all, for two people - pizza, bread, a martini each, and a salad came to over $100 - I feel like I was stuck to yet again by a north end restaurant. Just because they've had a famous person or two there doesn't mean it's good. You can always tell a bad restaurant by whether they have pictures of famous people up at the door. They don't rely on repeat customers whatsoever. Don't waste your time and money. No wonder they aren't open for lunch - they would never get the business. Pros: Convienient location if you're going to a Celtics game Cons: Food, service, value more

Great Pizza! 4/29/2008

This is a great restaurant!! Although, its located on the side of Cambridge Street that is in the West End not The North End...this is a common mistake. more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND NEBO 4/12/2008

We had a charity auction at Nebo the other night and had just a fabulous time. The food is to die for and the service is out of this world. It is certainly one of the hidden jewels in the North End and I highly recommend that you try it if you haven't been there yet. Pros: Great food at a reasonable price with unbelievable service. Cons: N/A more
