Best

Nava is back! The pan seared scallops over smoked tomato grits and a saffron tostada are out of this world. We sat outside on the patio and had the tastiest margaritas in town. ...

Worst

We, the four of us, had dinner at Nava. The experience can be barely qualified as average and we rated it as inconsistent. To the side of very good entrees, such as Pan-Roasted ...

Great Food & Great Service!! 12/1/2006

My boyfriend took me to Nava to celebrate my birthday! The service was amazing...best I've ever had! The food was fantastic too! The only downside was that the tables are REALLY close together so it's not very private, however, you may be able to request a private table, I'm not sure. Overall, it was a great dining experience for us both! Pros: Valet parking, service, food Cons: Expensive, tables way too close together more

Although a hotspot for 30-somethings, very romantic too! 10/29/2006

Would recommend for a date location, as well as drinks on the patio with friends for late 20's and thirty somethings... more

NOT WORTH IT! 8/28/2006

Okay, where do I begin. Besides being INSANELY overpriced for what you get, the service is the worst I've ever seen, being from the industry. I heard cursing, and foul conversations from the staff, the management was standing by the computers having conversations. The hostess, was dressed as if she was going to sleep in a leopard print slip looking dress. I just could not believe this restaurant even exists! Our server seemed to be ""on"" something..... so so bizzaree! All I am saying is there is so many great restaurants in Buckhead.. do not waste your time on bland merluza, fancy 30 dollar flank steak, and stale dinner rolls.....\r \r NOT WORTH IT! and their ""signature"" margarita comes out of a beer tap! Heaven knows how old it is and unsanitary! TERRIBLE!!! Pros: A nice looking patio. Cons: Management, service, originality more

Avoid this overpriced restaurant! 8/12/2006

I dined at Nava for dinner on 7/27. This was by far one of the worst dining experiences that I've had during my years of dining in Atlanta.\r \r From beginning to end, the meal was a disaster. We ate in the bar because we didn't want to wait for a table. The service there was horrible. The waitress was inattentive; she disappeared for stretches and at various times didn't bring us plates or utensils. At the end it took us 20 or more minutes to get our check and leave. The manager was also totally disdainful about our complaints. Other patrons had the same problem that evening in our area.\r \r The only good part of the meal was the appetizer. The asiago nachos were delicious once we received utensils and plates. Our entrees were not good and were nothing like the waitress described. We left the restaurant still hungry and angry at the poor service that we'd received from the staff and management.\r \r This is hardly the type of service that I would expect from a restaurant that is a part of the Buckhead Restaurant group based on my past experience. I've eaten at both The Atlanta Fish Market and Pricci and had enjoyable meals every time. The food and service here hardly merits the price! Pros: Ambience Cons: Service, food, management more

Unimpressed 8/11/2006

Nava is definitely a cool space, but the food was rather dull and the service was poor... very poor. The host stand was staffed by three people, none of whom made any attempt at enthusiasm or courtesy. Our waiter was distracted, not particularly helpful and made us feel rushed. Drinks took too long to come out and you had to flag someone down to get a fresh prickly pear margarita - which was quite tasty but probably made the same way at Chili's. At no point were we offered a wine list after our pre-dinner cocktails and the food came out so quick we didn't get a chance to order a bottle.\r \r The food was decent, but slightly overdone in both flavor and preparation. The outdoor patio might be the only reason to go back to Nava, otherwise it was overpriced, pretentious and not worth the trip. Pros: Nice outdoor patio Cons: Poor service, mediocre food more

Beware. 7/28/2006

Lots of pretty people in an attractive room. Sometimes fussy service but they don't necessarily refill water glasses and the guacamole that was a topping for my ""flat iron steak came out warm. The meat itself, a london broil sort of preparation, was good, but the kitchen just does not know how to caramelize onions which were acrid if not poisonous. Also the tortilla chicken was very good. The crushed crisp tortillas gave an interesting and different texture. \r \r Altogether, the flavors are not really so different or clever. I've been there several times now and have absolutely no remaining curiosity about their menu. Not a good food value. You are paying excessively for the location. If you have trouble with steps, request a lower level table when you reserve. KYMA and the fish restaurant , while not cheap, are both better efforts on the part of the Buckhead Life group. In fact I've been to all their places and Nava is at the bottom. Pros: Pretty room. Cons: Too noisy to really be romantic. more

unique southwestern 5/15/2006

Nava is my favorite restaurant to take out of town visitors. Everyone is always impressed by the uniqueness of Nava. From the decor to the food and service. They have great margaritas that are made on the premises by squeezing lemons and limes. Really a treat! The lobster soft tacos are unbelievable. The fried oysters are great. Wonderful salads, great blue corn bread. The vegetarian platter is one of the best vegi meals in the city. Also great side dishes! I never heard a complaint from anyone we shared a meal with at Nava. Pros: margaritas, food, atmosphere Cons: busy, busy, busy more

Great Dining 5/4/2006

My friend and I ate at Nava on a Friday night. The weather was perfect we sat on the patio, which was wonderful. The food was excellent and our service was great. We started off with the Nava Posole and Lobster Taco. We enjoyed the margaritas and mojitos. Nava is now one of our favorite restaurants. We will be going there on Wednesday nights for live music on the patio. Great experience.. Pros: Margaritas, Service, Food more

Not worth the money 3/5/2006

We dined Friday night at Nava. First of all the tables are so close together that you can not have a private conversation. We had to listen to very loud women talk through hapf our dinner. I had the Suncrusted Merluza fish which was extremley bland and boring and it came with a side of what tasted like creamed corn. My husband had the pork which he said was good but he has had better. The margaritas were almost $10.00 and I swear there hardly any alcohol at all in them. I have had way better margaritas in a strip mall for half the price. The service was excellent and that is the only thing that I can say good about this restaurant. Pros: good service Cons: crowded, bland food, over priced more

WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED! 1/24/2006

The food is excellent, but the service was terrible! There were 10 of us dining so our server asked if we wanted a sampling of 5 appetizers. We agreed & thought it would be 5 appetizers. When we got our bill he had charged us for 5 orders of one appetizer and 3 orders for the other four. We were charged almost $200 for our appetizers alone. My sister asked about a certain meal, he explained it, she ordered it, & was brought something different. One end of our table ordered a bottle of red wine, later someone on the other end asked for a glass of white & he opened another bottle of red & charged us. As we were leaving he was checking all the credit slips to see his tip & ignored us. The money we paid for dinner was not worth the horrible service we received. more

Wonderful Birthday Meal 9/13/2005

We went to Nava for my birthday and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent. Both appetizer salads we got were delicious. I had the ""Nava"" salad with smoked trout and got a generous serving. You must try the Jalepeno Jumbo Shrimp with Black Bean Enchilada for an entree. My date had the Salmon and thought it was superb as well. Server was very attentive but not overbearing. The seating outdoors was perfect for the late evening. Pros: food, service more

pathetic 8/18/2005

I really can't believe this place gets such great reviews. It's awful. SO EXPENSIVE. The wine is terribly overpriced and the service is wretched. I could see that it attracts tourists but people that live here really shouldn't support it. I can't even begin to describe the pathetic waitstaff. It was just all so bad I don't know where to start. Pros: honestly nothing Cons: service, very expensive, no toilet paper in ba more

Great Experience 8/17/2005

Had a wonderful experience at Nava last evening. The atmoshere is great, the service was very professional, but still relaxing, the food and presentation was outstanding and the Margaritas are close to the best I have had. Pros: food, presentation, margaritas Cons: parking more

Food stands out at Nava 8/5/2005

The Ambience and service are above average at Nava and add to the experience, but the food truly stands out here. I was very impressed by the presentation and quality of the food, with unique flavors, freshness and the perfect amount of spice that enhances but doesn't overpower. My only complaint was the long wait at the Valet, but that was a minor inconvenience that I'll put up with again to experience what Nava has to offer. Pros: Food, Service, atmosphere Cons: parking more

My most favorite place in Atlanta! 7/6/2005

I went to Nava with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday, and I was completely blown away by this place. The food and drinks were amazing and delicious. I had the venison and he had chicken with mandarin orange guacamole. We had no complaints! The service was friendly and attentive, and gave great reccomendations and descriptions of the food. I would go back in a heartbeat!! Pros: Service, Food, Valet Parking more

Great!!! 5/8/2005

I went there on my birthday. Loved it! My boyfriend got the absolute best pork tenderloin we had ever tasted!! Love the lobster tacos, scallops were cooked to perfection. Always went in the winter, so I am looking forward to the large deck this summer. Definitely a great date spot. Pros: FOOD, atmosphere, decor more

Great food! 3/8/2005

The service was exceptioinal. The lime chicken was great with lots of bold flavors. Pros: nice ambience, fast service, good food Cons: chilly, expensive more

Good thing the atmosphere is so great 9/5/2004

The restaurant and patio are beautiful and the atmosphere is wonderful. The bartender was extremely friendly and our server was good but not great. I don't even like margaritas but the bartender gave me a small complimtary one and I have to admit it was tasty. The scallops I ordered were disappointingly bland though. For the price I payed and the fact that this is southwest cuisine I was hoping for a lot more flavor. I went for lunch and maybe that was my mistake. I would only consider going back for dinner and hope that the food is better. Pros: great service Cons: , overrated more

Nava Review 7/20/2004

Food is wonderful and there are many choices, but the service on our visit was maybe the worst I have ever had. The black bottom pecan pie is a bit dry, but saved by the Mexican Chocolate ice cream. The chocolate dessert with dulce de leche ice cream is out of this world. Definitely go for the food with someone you enjoy since you won' be getting attention from your server... Pros: dessert, drinks, choices Cons: , service, service more

Amazing Food 5/4/2004

I went here a while back with my brother, sister-in law and nephew. We were a little concerned taking him to a fancy resturant. It worked out great! He loved the outdoor seating and the gigantic water display they have. The food is absolutely amazing, a must see! Bring your kids too. Pros: Good Service, Great Food more
