FITNESS USA - Do not join!!!!! 1/25/2010

They promise that you can get out the contract if you fill the proper paper work but it is all a lie. You will end up with a credit issue if you try to cancel. \r \r They told you that I could get out of the contract if I relocated to a place that there wasn't any Fitness USA within 100 miles. I follewed their instructions to cancell the account. However, they send me to collection and modified the info so that I could not clean my credit.\r \r DON'T DO IT!!!!!! more

Fitness USA and National Credit Corp 8/29/2009

I was a student at San Francisco State for two years. After shopping around and comparing different gyms, I chose Fitness USA because of 1. the reduced price that they offered me as a student and 2. when I asked about the process to quit because I moved around a lot and was a student, they told me that I could quit at anytime as long as I gave them the proper notice. I did as I was told in the months before my graduation, I gave them plenty of notice to let them know that I was going to be moving to LA (a location where there was no Fitness USA) and I filled in all of the necessary paperwork. Weeks before I was scheduled to graduate, they sent me a letter telling me that my reason to quit because I was moving was not a valid reason. I thought that this was ridiculous but even so, I sent them a copy of my valid CA I.D. and a letter along with a form that the gym had given me to fill out voicing my complaint. It has now been 4 months and I am now recieving calls from this company with them wanting to know why I stopped automatic payment on my debit card to Fitness USA. All that I ever wanted to do was quit the gym and after all that I have done (phone calls and 3 letters) this situation has still not been corrected. Contracts are strong and the fine print should always be read, but if you want to quit a gym that you were shelling out money every month to belong to and you were told when you were signed up that you could, then shouldn't you be allowed to? Pros: they offer great deals and are eager for you to join Cons: they don't follow through with what they offer in the end more

an over due apology 2/5/2009

Hello current customers and former customers of national credit corp.\r I have worked with quite a few of you over the last 5 months. I was fired from my job on Monday. This is not something that I am upset about it was an inevitable outcome. I didn?t make the company enough money. Please do not mistake this as an attempt to discredit NCC. I do not feel they owe me anything. I am not bitter about being fired. \r I am writing this because I feel that as an individual human being I owe you all an apology . Truly, I am sorry if I have made decisions that complicated your life and made it harder.\r I am not this type of person who can turn a blind eye and pretend that my actions did not cause damage. And I am humble enough to apologize when I know they have. \r When my fiance died in august, he left with absolutely nothing. If it wasn?t for the help and love of strangers I would have been homeless 2000 miles away from family. I let myself ignore the bigger picture and I ignored the new perspective I was given. Desperate times will make people justify their behaviors to themselves but never has it once made it right. \r The military taught me to have integrity in everything I did, to accept the consequences of my actions and to voice my opinion when I felt a need for change. That is how I am choosing to live my life.\r If I can help mend a situation I may have contrived please let me know. Neighbor to neighbor, not as a representative to anything or anyone other than myself. When you stop to think about it all that really matters in the end is the kindness we show each other? one last thought 2/5/2009

One last thought,\r \r I would also like to tell you a couple things about this company, so maybe next time you have to speak to a collector you have a better understanding of why you are received so abrasively. There are only about 5 employees and a manager assigned to this collection team, all having been there 5 years or more. Everyone working there is working on %100 commission; I hope you see how this situation with the economy has affected them also. Most of the people there are just doing whatever it takes to stay under the radar. These employees are in a situation that makes customer service obsolete, they make no money listening to anything you say unless it is a debit card number? The people that you speak to are bery nice people, the stress of corporate greed comes down on them 10 times harder then you will ever be expected to endure, try compassion, it will get you much further then threats and blame. .\r Pros: ******* Cons: ******** more

Criminal 1/19/2009

Where do I begin? I attended law school in Lansing for two semesters and transfered. Having been a member at many gyms, I know that most will try to keep your membership going as long as possible, so I requested and obtained a hand written note from the gym manager saying that I could cancel my contract when I moved more than 25 miles from the gym. I made the mistake of providing my debit card for automatic withdraws, but revoked the automatic payments when I found out I was moving. In July I sent in a note saying I would no longer be living in Lansing, as well as my last month's dues. \r \r In November, National Credit Corp, on behalf of Fitness USA, debited my account for 2 months of dues, and in December, 4 times. Merry christmas to me!\r \r I have yet to resolve the issue. Not only has the company left a bad taste in my mouth by lying to my face, they have debited over $200 from my account without my authorization. If you are a member now and plan on cancelling at any point, I would recommend getting a new debit card if they have the info. Pros: eager for you to join Cons: this is a money making venture with sub- par fitness equipment and staff more

Worst business ive ever encountered 1/15/2009

Never do business with this company, they are extremely disrespectful and seem to have social problems and self-esteem issues. I spoke to 4 different representatives and found that all of them, including a manager sounded very uneducated and spoke to me as if we were in the streets. I was hung up on by every last one of them, as if it is company policy to hang up on customers when they don't know how to answer questions. I called to ask if I could make a postdated payment on a bill, and the first girl told me that maybe I should pay my bills on time so that I wouldn't have to make those requests. When I told her that her job was not to make obvious suggestions and to simply answer my question, she began to yell through the phone for me not to tell her what her job was, then hung up on me. This is the sort of service I received even from her manger who was even worse and too hung up on me. If I could give them NO stars, I would! Pros: none. Cons: everything more

DISGUSTING customer service 7/30/2008

This company is unprofessional with no business ethics. They specialize in hurting good citizens. So please stay away from this company. Cons: thumbs way down! more

Horrible customer service. 6/30/2008

This company provides horrible customer service. They are not easy to talk with and will hang up on you if they don't like anything you have to say. Their motto seems to be the customer is always wrong and we are always right no matter what. more
