I cannot comment on Mud Street Cafe for the sit-down cafe side, but our experience with a rehearsal dinner in the private party room was underwhelming. While the location was quaint and the waitress was fine, we had mainly complaints. It was very expensive. Mud Street quoted us $24/person for our 30 guests. This did not include the room fee, tip, or dessert. The food provided was a supermarket-quality cold cut buffet with one variety of tiny rolls and cuts of meat that had to be folded to fit inside the rolls. Turkey is a popular choice these days, and the turkey was mainly gone when folks near the middle of the line passed through. On the other hand, there was too much of a non-tasty artichoke dip. I tend to like all artichoke dips at restaurants, but I did not want to finish the portion on my plate. After everyone had gotten food, there was an entire 9x13 pan of dip not touched with 30 people. There was one dinner-sized plate of fruit for all 30 people, and some of the fruit was bruised. Obviously, several people did not get fruit. The restaurant is famous for its wonderful sandwiches and soup - we would have preferred to choose from pre-made sandwiches with a hint of charm that we could not provide from our local Price Chopper.\r
The final cost for 30 people to eat this disappointing cold-cut buffet was a staggering $1200+.
