Cool place & hip crowd 12/3/2010

I would've given 3 stars, but the place was pretty darn gorgeous, 3 stars just isn't sufficient. Interior & exterior design are very well-themed. For a place that looks teeny-tiny from the outside, they successfully made the place seems endless to explore. It felt like going on a mini safari, complete with pretty exotic birds, without lions & tigers. Their live music bands seem decent. We had a few drinks which were okay. I wish we would've sit in for dinner, but it was already late by the time we got there. Yet the presentation & scent of their food was enough to make us want to go back to try. We're coming back for more! more

Excellent Every Time 5/26/2010

I have been here a few times and it is consistently excellent. They have a shuttle service that will pick you up before dinner and take you wherever you want to go after dinner. My wife and I rode in their Bentley to a bar downtown after dinner a few weeks ago. The service, food, drinks, and atmosphere are unmatched. I highly recommend for a romantic date as well as a business dinner. Pros: Food, Drinks, Atmosphere, Shuttle more

Great Place for food and music 6/1/2009

Great food and the music was great. Reaggae Sunday is great! I really like the carribbean style options that they have. The patio is kind of an inside/outside pateo so you certainly stay warm on cold nights Pros: Great Food Cons: Parking more

Beautiful restaurant, great food! 11/26/2008

Mozambique is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. They have three dining rooms downstairs, (one garden patio that's very romantic, a casual dining room that's South African inspired, and an upscale fine dining room complete with a romantic fireplace.) Upstairs they offer a bar with live entertainment, and then an outside coastal lounge with fireplaces and tv's overlooking the ocean. The food is amazing (try the peri peri prawns or the sea bass, delicious!) the staff is very professional and overall Mozambique has a unique edge sure to draw you back time after time! \r P.S. Sunday evenings are pretty much a ""scene"" night, with live reggae and a $5 cover so come early if you want good seats! more

Awesome Sunday Night! 8/12/2008

My wife and I, plus a good friend of my wife's had spent the day at the beach near laguna, so we were tired and beat from the afternoon sun. The restaurant was on our way, so we decide to stop for the happy hour and dinner on Sunday night. It was our first time here 8/10/08. Surprisingly, the bar was having a live reggae band (awesome group) performing the entire night and the decor with atmosphere blended very well. Our drinks were $3 for margarita's (good) and jungle juice (delicious). We all had a steak wrap, which was excellent, plus the servicing staff met our expectations. Overall, the whole experience was fantastic, and I've recommended the place several friends in 2 days. I will go back, specifically, for the Sunday happy hour/dinner gig. more

Interesting atmosphere, but over priced 1/12/2008

I joined a group of people here that I had not met before. I arrived on time, but since the others were not there yet I was told to wait in the bar upstairs, which I did not appreciate. The restaurant had a very interesting atmosphere but the large round table we were at made it difficult to have a conversation with anyone except the people right next to you. They have a wonderful wine selection and many choices on the dinner menu, but I was disappointed with the food. I felt it was horribly over priced and not worth what I paid for it. I may give the place a second chance, but perhaps try it for lunch instead of dinner. Cons: over priced more

Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere! 10/21/2007

For starters, my husband had Oyster Chowder and loved it. It was like a oyster seafood chowder with oysters, scallops, corn, calamari. I had a goat cheese and beet salad. It was served with spinach instead of lettuce which was a nice change. A warm poached egg also accompanied the salad - delicious! For entrees my husband had a filet mignon with peri peri spices and bernaise sauce. I had a roasted double cut pork chop. Generous portions, flavorable tastes, well prepared and served. Our waiter Stephen was helpful and knowledgeable. We'll definitely go back again. Request dining outside, it was perfect! more

Amazing Atmosphere 11/14/2006

Great Dark Continent-like atmosphere. The loungue is visually inspiring. Food is very good American surf & turf. If you're expecting African cuisine you might be disappointed, but the beef and seafood are outstanding. Pros: Atmosphere, Food Cons: African in name and ambience...not in food more

Refreshingly different! 8/15/2006

Unique South African influenced cuisine. Spicy Peri-Peri peppers add a nice zing to the hardwood grilled chicken, seafood and steaks. The chilled avocado with crab soup is a refreshing & delicious summer soup. The terrace is a fun cocktail spot, and features live music on weekends. Pros: Terrace and "formal" dining room Cons: Dining in the regular dining room is OK if you want super casual - not much atmosphere more

Good cust. Ser. 6/11/2006

Food was served in an interesting fashion, however, the portion , and size of the prawns were a joke. No bigger than a med. shrimp. If I return, that will not be my choice. Drinks good.\r Next time ? R. Rush more

We enjoyed Lunch last week and recommend sitting in the Patio. Fish , Chicken , and Steak were very fresh. more

Great Food, Poor Service 9/17/2005

I went with friends for a baby shower in the afternoon. The service was the slowest I have ever experienced, but the food was good. Cons: Service more
