Mo's Diner

We went to dinner with friends at Mo's Diner (the name is deceiving as this is no diner) this weekend and, as usual, the food and service were excellent. This great eatery is run by husband and wife, who make you feel like family, and keep us coming back for more of their attitude and quality food. The starter was the grilled caesar salad which is like no other salad I have ever had. I then dined on the scallops and pasta, while my other half inhaled the grouper special. Finally everyone tried a different dessert, specialties of our hostess Holly. What a fantastic meal! I noticed another review mentioned the jambalaya-like dish. In all fairness that is the only item on the menu I would not order again, but I leave it to everyone to decide on their own. more

Excellent service; the wood-grilled shrimp are tender but richly flavored; the rack of lamb is wonderful; fish is delicately flavored and complemented by appropriate vegetables. Located in a renovated old house near Moore Square & the Theater District, the intimate nature of a well-prepared meal is enhanced by the preserved architectural details of this early 20th century home. more
