good desserts 3/21/2006

Great ice cream and desserts. Good weekend brunch. Small seating area, and the wait might be long to get a table during their peak hours. You can walk in and get ice cream or dessert though. Right in the middle of the Gayborhood. Staff was nice, but not very efficient. more

Stick to just ice cream 8/25/2005

The ice cream is delicious, albeit over priced. The brownie sundae is always a good choice! The other bakery items they offer are also very good, very large portions and very fresh (don't know if they bake on the premises). The food is acceptable, but again, overpriced and not that wide of a selection. It also tends to take FOREVER to get food if there are more than five people there, so do not go if you are in a rush. Also, if you are expecting polite service, you will be sadly disappointed - unless you are a friend of the wait staff. more

Ice Cream and Other Treats 8/17/2005

More Than Just Ice Cream really does have more than just ice cream - they have a whole dinner menu. But alas, I've been there many times and only ever had dessert. They offer a wide variety of ice cream flavors for lower prices than competition ice cream places like Ben and Jerry's. They also offer many other desserts such as apple pie or carrot cake. The carrot cake slice I had had thick real cream cheese icing and was raisin-free as I prefer. The apple pie a la mode is a humungous slice of pie with your choice of ice cream that would easily serve 3 people. It's also located in Philly's gayborhood so it makes for a nice outing in the evening. more
