Do not overlook this FREE and amazing collection. Constantly changing and consistently excellent. Among my favorites are the works of Maynard Dixon.

Take the kids to this one 8/17/2005

Your kids will love the Life Science Museum. It contains hundreds of different species of animals stuffed for your viewing pleasure. You'll also see some live animals in some of their special exhibits. There are three floors of exhibits so make sure you don't miss any of them. A huge elephant stands in the middle of the museum. They also have a huge wall of different types of fish and on an opposite wall you'll see an enormous giraffe. And it's free! more

Free Animal Museum For All! 8/15/2005

Sponsored by Brigham Young University and the Monte L. Bean collection of hundreds and thousands of animals, the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum is a great place for a family event, or a trip to learn about wildlife with the kids. The museum does not charge admission and is open every weekday. The people are friendly, and the displays take about 1-2 hours to walkthrough. more

A Fun Little Museum 8/11/2005

This is a fun little museum to go see. There are good representations of lots of different animals. It's really fun for younger kids and there is often school groups there for presentations. It's a great place to take your younger kids, and interesting for adults as well. Overall, a great palce to go especially since it's free! more

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! 8/2/2005

You'll find all of the above and much much more at the Bean Museum. Wondering what an okapi looks like? Try here (its sorta like an antelope) They have everything from an insect case to seashells to all sorts of stuffed animals. I thought it was great to see a liger (cross between a lion and a tiger) There's all sorts of animals I never knew existed.... Best of all, the museum is free! It can be a little boring for young kids...they would probably like a zoo better where the animals actually do things...but they do have some free shows and activities. They also have a small gift shop with some nifty little items. I got some really nice seashells here. The prices seem reasonable. more

Interesting Science Museum 8/2/2005

Free Museum When your kids are old enough to appreciate it, this is a great museum. If they are too young, they will be very bored. But if your child is interested in animals, they'll really enjoy themselves. They have exhibits of "stuffed" animals from all the animal groups. The Bean Museum has free nightly shows for the public. The topics are: Reptiles, Animal Adaptations, Birds, Snakes, Elephants, and Reptiles. You can also schedule private shows during the day. Saturday Safaris (for a fee) are classes for children ages 5 to 10. They include lessons, crafts, snacks, and games. There is also a small gift shop in the museum. more
