I have completed several works at MJL Sound over the last 10 years because Michael LaGennusa not only brings professionalism and expertise to the studio, but he brings a genuine love for music which drives him to really commit himself not to just work for you, but work with you. Michael produced and engineered my last CD which contains 16 tracks. It was a lot of work for me, especially when most of it was done at night after I worked all day. I live on Long Island and I make the trip into the city. For one low price you not only get a great engineer, producer and arrainger but you also get an incredible musician. Tell Mike what you want and he delivers. You can go elswhere and pay alot more for alot LESS. He knows every style of music and gets all the sounds. And since he is a musician first, he knows what it was like to have an engineer take hours trying to get a sound. He does it fast and he does is good. Simply put he is the best. I've recorded over 40 songs in the last ten years at MJL. Mike is a pleasure to work with. Great guitar player, key boardist and producer.. He even comes up with and sings good harmonies. I'm very happy with my demo c.d's...whether we did country, pop, even a few dance tracks. All at a reasonable price too. more

I recorded several songs with Michael at MJL. He is so easy to work with, and he was able to provide me with everything I needed to make very high quality recordings. I didn't have a drummer, and he programmed some very authentic drum tracks for me. I needed some extra guitar on a song, and asked him to add his own world-class playing to it, which he very skillfully did in no time flat. His singing voice is also excellent and I had him add some very tight harmonies on my recordings. Michael can do anything you ask for in the studio: be recording engineer (including mastering), producer, studio musician (keyboards, guitar, drum programming, singing), even co-songwriter, but will only do what you ask him to, which to me defines customer service. I highly recommend MJL Sound to any artist. more

My CD, which Michael produced, and on which he synthed all the accompaniment AND played brilliant guitar, has been heard and praised by industry professionals, including a microphone company CEO/former musician, a voice-over artist/singer with international credits, and a famous 80s pop artist (who had a string of hits, but whose name I haven't asked permission to use...if you listened to radio in the 80s, you heard him). All commented on the great sound. Having brought to the studio nothing but a home demo and lead sheet, Michael ""got it"" immediately; I'd leave the session with a rendering that was exactly what I'd heard in my head, and then some. These are crystalline, well-mixed recordings seasoned with a dash of Michael's own creativity and ""sound"" musical instincts. (All this, AND he's a joy to work with.)
