Half dead flowers and rude!!!! 4/28/2011

Today is 4/27/2011, I recieved purple roses from Mitchells that were brown and half dead I called them to complain and was rudely told that those were the best roses they had. I told them I didn't have to have purple roses any fresh roses were fine. I was told no and that they would pick up the half dead arrangement, I set them on the porch. Think twice, you can do better at the grocery store. more

WORST FLOWERS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! 10/18/2010

My first mistake was walking through the door of Mitchell's Flower Shop in Orland Park. This was the worst experience I've EVER had with a florist! \r \r My sister and I wanted to send my mom some flowers for her birthday. I looked online and saw that Mitchell's Flower Shop in Orland Park had decent reviews so we decided to try them out. We went to Mitchell's on a Monday evening, spoke with the owner George, picked out a nice vase, asked for a pink flower arrangement and specifically asked for no carnations or lilies in the arrangement. With tax and delivery, our total was $90. \r \r On Wednesday (2 days later), the flowers were delivered and our mom sent a picture showing 6 pink carnations in them! My sister and I drove to my mom's work to see them in person, and not only were there carnations (when we specifically asked for NO CARNATIONS), there were tons of alstroemeria (peruvian lilies which we didn't want either!) all with broken petals. \r \r We took the arrangement back to Mitchell's more

Very Memorable Flowers 3/12/2009

I've used Mitchell's for years and received many beautiful arrangements so I had complete confidence that my wedding flowers would be handled well. Well is an extreme understatement for what I received. There were more compliments on my centerpieces that day than my dress! My bouquet was so beautiful that I made arrangements (based on a referral from Mitchell's) to have it preserved and framed. It is the first item that people pick out in my living room when they visit, and the compliments I still receive on it always remind me of the wonderful job that Mitchell's did! more

Design beyond compare 3/11/2009

I recently ordered some flowers for one of my clients as a thank you for a reference. Her response was " I have never seen such beautiful flowers!" She asked where they were from and I gladly told her Mitchell's Flowers. I have been a customer of Mitchells for over 18 years- since my wedding in 1991. Great Florist 3/11/2009

We have used Mitchell's for the past 3 years and have been very pleased with all of our orders. They have varied from arranged roses to mixed floral arrangements, to funeral arrangements and everything has been very nice. The staff are friendly and easy to work with, very helpful. more

I normally don't write reviews online but thought that my recent experience with Mitchell's Florist needed to be launched into cyberspace. I asked Mitchell's if they would be willing to donate a gift basket for a silent auction for my daughter's community swim club. Without hesitation, they said yes! The Easter themed basket they provided was really cute and was one of the most popular items sought after in the auction. Thank you Mitchell's for helping our community swim club raise some very needed money! more

Wonderful!! 3/11/2009

I asked Mitchell's flower shop if they would be willing to host a tour for the Brownie Troop I am a co-leader for. They immediately said yes & gave me many dates to work with. This past February, our troop (consisting of 14 second graders) arrived to find a full staff waiting for them! The girls were made "honorary employees", got a full behind the scene tour, were educated on the many different flower types and were taught exactly what goes into making a flower arrangement (which was VERY informative to all the moms there too!) . Each girl was then able to make their own flower arrangement (with their favorite flower included) to take home. The girls has such a great time and the entire staff was wonderful to them! I treated myself to a dozen yellow roses when we left and they were GORGEOUS! I highly recommend Mitchell's Flowers - great people and great flowers! more

Having ordered flowers from Mitchell's many times, I can honestly say that the service and quality they deliver are truly first rate. The prices are fair and the people have always been friendly. Valentine Flowers for wife were spectacular! 3/11/2009

I have ordered from Mitchell's Flowers for at least 20 years. This year, I wanted to give my wife some flowers for Valentines day. I called a couple of days early and spoke with Dave. I was thinking that Red Roses would do fine but Dave let me know that he has some really good Pink roses that just came in. He did a mixture of Red and Pink roses that my wife still raves about. Dog House 2/13/2009

Bought flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend and instead of getting me out of the dog house, the wilted flowers only made things worse. When i called an old man was rude, then a younger guy got on the phone and said you have to excuse my father he's old. Well to run a business, you dont get rude and use crappy excuse's, if your old retire! People pay good money and we are in a recession dam it! more

We have had Mitchell's create wonderful parties for us and also 2 weddings. They are the most professional shop in the business. They are creative and have a wonderful sense of what weI like. They sit down with you and actually get your preferences and then suggest designs for you to chose. You will love working with them. more

Best in the Business! 7/22/2008

I had them do the flowers for my daughter's wedding and shower. I had a little idea about a fountain theme & they worked with me and made the most spectacular arrangement I had ever seen. People still ask me about them 8 months later. For the wedding, they couldn't have been more professional. They were absolutely the first vendor to arrive at our house in the morning. They even suggested taking the church flowers to the reception (which they did, saving much money) and took care of everything. I have been in business in Orland for over 30 years and they have always done great work. I'm sure some people are bargain hunters and base their critique solely on price. If so, Jewel does a nice job, or maybe they can be lucky enough to find a guy on the side of the road with a box of flowers. But if you want quality, personal service, reasonable prices, and GREAT flowers and arrangements, please go to Mitchells. more

Meh... 5/1/2008

I went in to order prom flowers. They had a few pictures on a wall, but were too hurried to discuss what I wanted. They just asked the color of the dress and how many roses I wanted, wrote it on a piece of paper and asked for money down. I couldn't get a receipt because the computers were down.\r It was very rushed, though only two other customers were in the shop. \r I may change this review once I see the final product, but for now I'm nervous. more

Not Professional! 9/13/2005

I contacted Mitchell's prior to my wedding this summer. They did excellent work for my friends wedding. However, my experience was not good. They wanted me to sign a contract prior to even meeting with them. They would not even talk with me about flowers without committing to spending over $1500.00. Sorry guys, I went with another florist and spent only $400! more
