not to bad, not too good. the music is usually not very good but a few times a week they'll get a decent act. going down hill recently and unfortunately the place is the finest ...

Weird mix, but it works! 4/7/2003

This place has it all, but in a weird way it works. A pizza place, wine room, and live music venue all rolled into one joint. I was only there to hear some music so I didn't partake in anything except for beer. The place was a bit dead the night I was visiting, but it has charm. Also, it is a bit off the beaten path. I am a pepperoni freak and theirs is spicy good. I also like the live music--a little something different every night. And of course the beer--great on tap chioce: everything from Pabst to Fat Tire. Nice neighborhood hangout. Pros: eclectic more

Very nice, but far from perfect 8/13/2002

These perfect ten scores musta come from owners or employees or friends because it's obvious that The Mississippi is not a pefect TEN. Best pizza in town? There's NO SAUCE! And the descriptions of the decor make it sound like this is gonna be some swank N'Awlins type joint. The furnishing are pretty cool, but plain. And when someone asks if you have A/C (rare but on this particular evening it was 101 fahrenheit) you should answer with all honesty the way the Delta Cafe did: ""Yeah we have air conditioning, but it doesn't really feel like it."" As for the band, it was an unexpected treat, not knowing exactly when bands play here ... a jazz/klezmer type five-piece, but guys ... learn how to play without sheet music! I respect that and loathe it at the same time. You can't really FEEL the music when you're painting by numbers. more

The Mississippi is GREAT 8/13/2002

I went to the Mississippi when it first opened and have gone there every day and I love the pizza every time! It is fresh and has a taste i can only dream about! The atmosphere is great too! If u haven't been here then u r missing out on something good! more

Outstanding service! World-class pizza! New wine tasting room will be a great addition! The Mississippi has the perfect blend of music, atmosphere, attitude, and of course pizza. All very nicely priced. The pizza is a pizza's pizza! more
