Mint Cafe Best MEditerranean food I've had hands down! 12/3/2009

The most comfortable place to relax and have a peacefull dinner with the Family or grab a Kabob for lunch with the co-workers. They delivered to my office around the corner at least once or twice a week. I offically addicted to Hummus!!!!! Pros: Best Place in town for Mediterranean food. Cons: N/A more

Awesome place!!! 7/14/2009

My girlfriends and I love this place! We eat here almost every week for lunch or dinner. I got the chicken swarma the first time I went and I haven't been able to order anything else since! The seasoning on the chicken is awesome and it comes with this amazing garlic spread. All their sides are awesome too! The best thing is you can bring your own wine and pay a minimal corking fee! I will continue to visit this place frequently!!! Pros: BYOB, Great food Cons: Small more

Mint Cafe Rocks! 6/16/2009

We love this place, and we keep going back for more. This is one of the best casual lunch/dinner locations in Houston that offers such a great menu and such flavourful food. Remember to try the Labneh as an appetiser.\r \r The service is friendly and quick. \r \r A hidden gem in the galleria area!\r Pros: Great flavour, healthy, good prices, varied menu Cons: Nice decor but lacks ambience more

Great Place, and they deliver! 10/7/2008

If you are lucky enogh to be in a 5 mile radius they will deliver! Great change of pace to ordinary Chinese take-out. The food was great and I felt like I got alot for what I paid for. Will definately order from Mint again! Pros: They Deliver! more

Wonderful Mediterranean Flavors, Prompt service; A hiden gem in the Galleria 6/30/2008

The Mint Cafe is a delightful small grill with seething with Mediterranean flavors. I travel all over the country (40+ weeks/year) and around the world on company dollars. What I always look for first, is the food unique, and well prepared. Second, is service is professional, prompt, and courteous. Third, is the hot food hot and the cold food cold. The answer at the Mint Cafe is a resounding YES! You can spend 5x as much and only get half the flavor or half the service. In my recent visits to the Galleria, I?ve always found myself drifting back to The Mint Cafe because it is all so delicious.\r \r They start you out with fried pita and olive tapenade. I?ve had the Beef Swarma (roasted beef), Chicken Swarma (grilled chicken), Kafta kabob (pressed ground beef with spices) all alongside of some delicious Tabouli and a large serving of hummus with olive oil and paprika. Each has been delightful and filled with wonderful citrus flavors, olives, and spices. The food is not ?spicy hot? but aromatic and exotic. The pita is a thin, not doughy, melt in your mouth, wonderful accompaniment to your meal.\r \r It is BYOB, so do stop and pick up some of your favorite wine or beer. To finish the evening you can sit outside and enjoy shisha (hookah). I also enjoyed the Turkish Coffee and a small Baklava. Honestly, you can spend a lot more, but I?m not sure you?ll get much more than fancy linens. I?ll take the flavors, quality, and service of the Mint Cafe any day.\r \r My only hesitancy to recommend it is that it will get crowded. So please enjoy, but don?t tell everyone. Pros: Service and food are fantastic; Prices are steal Cons: Very little atmosphere, but at this price I don't expect linens more

Minty Fresh and Tasty 6/21/2008

Saw a description for Mint Cafe on Citysearch and decided to try it out. What a great little place! We decided to order a few appetizer plates, thinking we wouldn't have any trouble polishing them off. Wrong! The portions were HUGE! I found the Hummus to be a bit bland, but they probably have some of the best Baba Ghanouge that I have tasted - you could tell the eggplants had been roasted, which totally brought out the flavor. The Kibbeh is not worth ordering, but the Ardishawki (steamed artichoke with light garlic, olive juice, cilantro and lemon juice was amazing - beautiful and totally worth the effort of eating! The Grilled Halloum was nice and tasty as well as the Kafta Kabob Halabi (although the halabi part, ""spicy sauce"" was basically a red bell pepper blend, the grilled meat was delicious). I was utterly delighted with this find and can't wait to go back again. Oh yeah, and one thing that is not mentioned on any advertising is that it is BYOB! Pros: Yummy Food Cons: Small cafe (with way too many kids at times..) more

Great mediterranean place. 5/12/2008

Just came back from having lunch at Mint. I must say it was a great choice. I had the mint chicken sandwich wrapped in pita bread and it was very tasty. Very well decorated place and has a good vibe to it. I will recommend it to my co-workers. Pros: Nice Decor, Clean and a good menu. more

Love the Lamb 5/7/2008

Whether I get the Zucchini and Lamb dish on Sunday or Lamb chops on any other day of the week, I always go home happy. The price is amazing for the amount and quality of food you get. Overall, the food, service and location are excellent. Outdoor seating is a big plus, too! Pros: BYOB more

Great Day Houston Names a Great Place 2/27/2008

Wow. That's all I have to say. I saw Mint Cafe on Great Day Houston this week, went to try it, and I was highly impressed. The food was delicious and the service was great. They told me at lunch, you order at the counter (that's what I did), but that during dinner it's table service. I'd like take my family there one night, and they have Kids' Menu! Definitely a Great Choice in Houston! Pros: Food, Service, Lime&Mint more

more than rude... 1/3/2008

The food was tasty enough, but the service ruined the dining experience. Myself and four co-workers ordered from the menu and paid for our lunches at the counter. My boss ordered before me and was offered complementary pita chips and chopped olives, I ordered exactly the same thing after him and was offered nothing. In fact, I was shortchanged! \r We enjoyed our meal and drinks for quite some time. When more people started coming in, the owner/manager started bussing our table around us. We had to grab our drinks so he would not take them. Apparently the quantity of customers is more important to them than the quality of the dining experience. When we did finally stand to leave he shoved around us to get the glasses pushing two of the women in my group out of his way.\r I would not expect this type of mentality in such a lovely location. Perhaps they should relocate to Pasadena! more

Excellent new cafe - highly recommended 3/11/2007

Excellent food, excellent service, great decor. This is a lovely gem in the Galleria area. We were impressed with the fresh, healthy food and the owner's friendliness. \r \r My Recommendations: Falafel, Chicken Kabob, Grape Leaves, Garlic Sauce, Lebanese wine, The Mint Special Dessert Pros: Great food, great service, great location, great decor more

Very Authentic Lebanese Food 3/5/2007

Thumbs up! Way up! Although the decor shouts contemporary and cold, the food is by far GREAT. Very tasty and very authentically Lebanese. I had found my favorite Lebanese restaurant in town, but now there definitely is competition in town. This place is very friendly, attentive service, fabulous food and alltogether a delectable experience. The tabouli was very fresh and seasoned to perfection, the babaghanoug was no less than perfect; no taste of burned eggplant and just the right amount of garlic and lemon. I had the beef shawarma and it was presented in a very attractive manner and it tasted just like it is suppose to taste like... I was offered desert and it was a winning compliment to the already delicious fare. A definite A+. Highly recommendable, I will return and bring people. Pros: authentic food, very tasty, perfect balance of seasoning Cons: didn't find any more

Little start up restaurant - needs a bit of work! 2/17/2007

We went to this establishment tonight and you could tell that they were trying really hard! The waitstaff left us sitting alone for long periods of time. We had to get up and ask them to come back three times - 1) when we wanted to order, 2) when we had been waiting for our food for an hour and 3) when we wanted to pay and leave. Seemed to be more inexperience than anything. The food was decent, but nothing spectacular. I think this place has a lot of potential - and I like the friendly waitstaff. I would go back again, but probably for lunch! Pros: clean, nice, good location, decent prices Cons: slow service, bland food more

Excellent food, friendly service 1/25/2007

I stopped in here on a rainy cold night after working late. I thought I'd just try a regular ole gyro but the staff suggested I try their special which was a lean ground meatballs in a delicious gravy sauce. Super delicious flavors in the meat with mediterranean spices. It was served with steamed rice, pita bread and a to-die-for salad that I couldn't get enough of. When they say ""mint"" they're not kidding. The salad had a delicious dressing with feta crumbles and chopped mint. The lemonade is mint too, only fresh mint puree'd to the point of invisible...try this drink! Pros: Great mediterranean food, ambience and service Cons: Hidden off Sage in the corner of the strip center more

Excellent! 1/11/2007

Mint Cafe is great! I have been eating here since they opened and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is always fresh and flavorful and the service is prompt and friendly. You can order from an extensive menu at the counter or you can sit and be served on. The weekend specials are great as well, although they can be on the pricier side. Try their fresh juices for a nice change of pace. Pros: Very tasty, great service more
