I called Mike to repair my BOSCH tankless hot water heater because he is the only recommended service agent on the BOSCH hot water website.
Mike came out and diagnosed the problem as a ""design flaw"" with the heat exchanger and made warranty claim with BOSCH who sent me a replacement water heater. Mike quoted me $650 to re install the new unit (in addition to the $120 service call). The day the new unit arrived, Mike didn't show up until 4:00pm Friday, (supposed to be first thing in the AM), Mike partially installed the new unit to where I had hot water online, and then said he'll be back Mon or Tues. to finish the job (which was the most labor intensive part) When he left he asked for a partial payment ($400) which I paid.
Mike called that Tues and said his computer was hacked and he couldn't make it until Thurs or Fri. Well, Thurs or Fri came, Mike was a NO CALL -NO SHOW. (my check was cashed, he had no problem going to the bank)
Eight days later still NO CALL NO SHOW, I called him, and he claimed to have been ""slammed"" by the State (of PA) for some kind of tax mix up, and the State threatened to shut his business down and that his ""guy"" messed up some tax forms. Mike did offer to return but I just could not allow that due to him taking my $400 and not calling or showing..
Typical methods of a scam artist! Unfortunately I'm out $520 due to his scam. And, after addressing the ""design flaw"" issue with BOSCH, its not true. BOSCH is on to his nonsense also..
Very disappointed.. and what makes it a true scam is when Mike does not offer any partial refund.
BOTTOM LINE: $520 for 2 hours of easy work, incomplete installation, run around, excuses, and no offer of partial refund. NOT RECOMMENDED!!
