ok, I am the odd duck out here! 4/5/2010

yes, it is a pretty cool atmosphere, overlooking the hustle and bustle of Grand Central.....however, the food was average for the price and location. And the service was NOT at all top notch. The waiter came over once to take our order and once to ask us about coffee. Never coming by to get us another drink, or see how we were. That was disappointing. There are a lot of restaurants in that area that are comparable in price and are far better in food and service. I know all the other reviews on here rave, so maybe I got them on an off day. Or maybe this is another example of the “Emperor’s New Clothes”. Pros: view of Grand Central Cons: service, service, service more

best place to enjoy the Grand Central view 10/23/2007

made reservations there on a Tuesday night and though the place looks crowded we got seated right away even though we got there half hr earlier than our reservation time. We thought it would be too loud to talk since the tables are too close to each other - it looks cramped but then because of the openness of the place it wasn't that bad! The food came in pretty quick less than half hour! yummy and so presentable! desert was fantastic! they got an awesome wine list too. i'd go back there and enjoy the scenery with my glass of wine n desert hehehehe. Pros: great service, food and view! Cons: too cramped if your claustrophobic more

Metrazur is King 10/23/2005

Metrazur is my favorite restaurant in New York. The restaurant is surprisingly quiet considering it is inside Grand Central. I won't lie to you and tell you that it is the ambiance that brings me to Metrazur because it is not. It is a combination of great food, excellent service, and most of all great value! The best night to go is Saturday when they offer their World Wine Menu. It is a price fixed three course menu that includes a bottle of wine for every two diners. Last saturday I was there with two friends and our bill came to 180 dollars with tip for three courses, wine, and coffee. Tell me where else in New York can you eat for 60 dollars, all included and get this kind of service. Order the chared prawn citrus risotto and you will thank me later. Pros: Service, Food more

overall: great place 8/8/2004

went here last week and i liked it a lot. the service was spectacular. i was seated immediately and was serviced very well (then again it wasn't overly packed). nice view, overlooking the hustle and bustle that is grand central station. They have air ventilators, but it was a little warm for me, so i do not recommend going on a hot and humid day like i did. Pros: impeccable service, interesting location, fairly priced more

good stuff 6/23/2003

Found this place on the restaraunt week list and went because we could get reservations pretty last minute. Both of our entrees (flank steak and mahi mahi) were great, as we really enjoyed our meal. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: A wee bit noisy more

worst drinks 6/23/2003

One of the thinks I love about New York is its bartenders. It's easy to find great cocktails and drinks, but not in Metrazur. The design is very nice, but the drinks there there are easily the worst I tried in NY. My friends and I ordered different drinks, and all of them were pretty bad. It's not worthed. Pros: design, ambiance Cons: bar, food, service more
