Old school movie watching 10/6/2005

I remember going to the Memphis Drive-In Theater as a child in my pajamas. It is still fun as an adult because you can still go to the movies in your pajamas. I don't think the grounds or the concession stand has ever been updated or remodeled. but then again that is half the fun of the place. . .getting that old school drive in experience that is so rare these days. It is almost like being in American Graffiti. If you have never been to a drive I highly recommend going to the Memphis Drive-In and experiencing it before all the Drive-Ins are gone. more

Not many of these around anymore 8/19/2005

Drives in Theraters aren’t as plentiful as they were many years ago. It's nice to know that the Memphis Drive In is still operating. It's a very nice time to load up the car and kick back and enjoy the movie with the speaker box nearby and concession stand smells wafting thru the car. Also, during the summer, you can 'rent' a space in the parking lot and sell your wares. Yes, it's a flea market on the weekend and the fun part is, you'll never know what goodies you will find there. more

On the weekends, you can bring yourself and your belongings that you want to sell and set up a booth/table there in the parking lot at the Memphis Drive-In Theatre. I do forget the cost, but I think it was about $5 to sell there for one day. It does get pretty busy on some weekends. It has cheap 'rent' to try to sell your items but youre out in all weather - no coverage over the tables. But go and enjoy the drive-in movie too! more
