A great special occasion restaurant 12/8/2008

Great food, good service, and fun! My boyfriend and I did the 4 course meal (entree, salad, cheese dip, and dessert). It was phenomenal! A little pricey with meal, drinks, and tax it was $100, but worth it! You get so much food but it really is hard for two people to finish. The chocolate is amazing, I recommend the Yin-Yang dessert which is white and dark chocolate. Wouldn't waste money on their mixed drinks that run around $10 each. Great place for a romantic night out, not too many kids there. more

great dessert 5/30/2006

A while back, my friend and I went there just for dessert. It was excellent and was about $10-15 total for two of us to eat. I don't think that is such a bad price for a nice dessert that provides a little entertainment as well. more

I love the melting pot. If you go to their website and sign up you can get a coupon for a free dessert, which ends up being like $25.00. If you have 4 people, you don't have to order the fondue for 4 cause it will be too much, just order the fondue for 2. The dessert as well cause most of the items you receive are never ending (or until you run out of cheese, oil or chocolate). The melting pot is a great place, but you do walk out smelling nasty. Like you have to go home and shower to get the smell out of your hair. It might be the oil that they use, but it stinks! Hope this helps. more

Melting Pot 3/27/2006

I love the cheeses fondue and the chocolate desert fondue is so rich and delicious. The entree was good too. I love the dipping sauces for the vegetables and meats. But I think the next time I go I will just get appetizer and desert. There is so much food that you can't eat it all anyways and it is rather expensive. more

Melting Pot 3/17/2006

I've been to the Melting Pot a few times, and while I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service I'm of the opinion that it is overpriced. It's definately (for someone on a budget) one of those places that you only go to for special occasions. If you view it as an "experience" (like Habachi at Mori/Osaka) it's kind of unique and lends itself to occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, prom/formals, etc. Expect to spend at least $35 a person for a full dinner for two (appetizer, main course, and dessert) without drinks/tip. The service is always good, but I would avoid nights like local Prom, Graduation, and Valentine's because it is usually packed (if you're planning to go on these nights, call a few days ahead and ask if they are taking reservations). Occasionally I like with my friends and have the dessert (chocolate fondue with a variety of fruits, cookies, and cake to dip into the chocolate). I think this runs about $15 - 20 for two and is a nice treat for someone's birthday or just to pamper the chocolate lover in your life. more

  • In Short
Booths equipped with tabletop fondue pots are clustered together inside the intimate dining room. Start with a cheese fondue, including an assortment of breads, veggies and fruits for dipping. Entrees include lobster, center-cut filet, fish, chicken and vegetarian selections served with a variety of dipping sauces. For dessert, try the flaming turtle, a mix of chocolate and caramel flambéed tableside, served with nut-covered marshmallows, fresh fruit, pound cake, brownies and cheesecake.
