Food was way too full of oil, they did not follow one written instruction on my order (exclude onions from my salad), they forgot the dipping sauce that goes with one of their app...

Ordered chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo and mulligatawny. The chicken dishes were pretty good and hit the spot. Wish I could say the same for the soup...texture was off. All in all, I'd order again. more

Food was way too full of oil, they did not follow one written instruction on my order (exclude onions from my salad), they forgot the dipping sauce that goes with one of their appetizers (which was over seasoned with curry) and to top it off, I saw about 3 different hairs in my salad!! UNACCEPTABLE!! more

Do not order delivery 5/13/2010

We ordered at 7:30 on a Thursday. At 9:15, still no sign of the delivery guy. We called twice and got the excuse that the delivery ""had to walk"" - it's 6 blocks to our apartment!! And when we called just now they literally hung up on us. I have never encountered a sorrier excuse for a restaurant in my life. Two hours late the owner shows up with lame excuses and the offer of 10% off for food that is TWO HOURS cold/old. My husband is making pasta. Never, ever order from these idiots! Cons: No delivery more

Better off not going here 12/12/2007

Service is horrible. Food is not good enough for the service to be that bad. Better off getting food from Balducci's or Tandoor which are both on Queens Blvd. Pros: Close for people who live in the area Cons: Bad service, Food is average only more

Oh god I miss Mehak! 2/6/2003

I recently moved from Kew Gardens to Astoria. As much as I love my new neighborhood, the one thing I miss is having decent Indian or Pakistani food to eat. Mehak was my favorite place to eat ""back in the day"" (last year). It was a hole in the wall, but I'd order from there practically every week. Their sauces were perfect. The chicken vindaloo and the chicken saag were top drawer. Those guys were so cool too. There's a nice renovated movie theater around the corner that shows all independent and foreign flicks. The whole neighborhood is really quaint, too. I couldn't think of a more perfect movie and dinner date. Pros: great neighborhood, great food Cons: tiny, Indian TV more
